Stafford for one. Detroit had a bigger need at OT and CB. I like fairley but he is lazy.

While I agree that O-line is a need. They weren't terrible last year in pass protection. Also they still have a lot of picks and FA yet to go so they can still address that need. On top of that, remember that Offensive lineman don't drop off that much in the first few rounds. I mean the few great ones are great but you can get very good lineman in the 2nd-5th rounds. They could even go with a LB or CB in the second and still get a very good offensive lineman. I guarantee that the Lions never thought that Fairley would be there when they picked. He was definitely worth taking at that spot. I mean they got a top 6 or 7 pick at 13. That's a good thing regardless. Not to mention, as long as they all stay healthy the Lions will not give up as much on defense because of this pick. No Doubt about that. They single handedly just made every offense they play one sided. Nobody will run against them and the chances that they will give up a lot of big throws has gone down as well. I mean the opposing QB's will have less time to let plays develop. The ways any team will score big plays will be short passes then having long RAC's. Tackling will be big for the LB/Secondary. If they can get better there, then look out! That Defense wont give up too many points.***Edit***Edited just to add the end to my point. The reason why I was grinning ear to ear, on top of the pick the Lions got (top 7 pick at 13). The Vikings got a top 40 pick at 12!
