How Many WRs Do You Normally Roster in Start-3 Leagues? (1 Viewer)

How many WRs you aim to roster in general for leagues that start 3? How many do you roster when rosters are small (9 starters including 3 WRs, 15-16 man roster)? How many do you typically roster with a larger sized roster (9 starters/3 WR starters 17-18 man roster)? PPR vs. standard?

There are many variables like roster size, waiver availability, and position limits to keep in mind, of course, but am just curious if most owners have a standard they apply in most situations or if they just wing it mostly because of all the variables involved.

With 16 man rosters I try to roster no less than 5. 6 if there isa high ceiling player that falls to me in later rounds.

4 to 7 depending on the quality of the starters.
This. If I spend three of my first picks on elite WR's, I carry only 4 and load up on a bunch of average RB's hoping I can cobble together a decent RB crew. If I go heavy on RB's early, I stock up on late round fliers and see who pans out.

Too many other variables such as total roster size, my teams strengths (do I have 4 solid RBs, do I need 2 QBs or TEs?) and what quality have the other owners left on the wire. But I usually carry at least 5 and usually not more than 6

I went with 7 this year in a 26-player roster with IDP (IDP are very low-scoring, however, so it's essentially a 20-player roster + 6 IDP streamers for me). Two top-12ish players, a low-floor/low-ceiling WR3, two upside WR4's, and a pair of late-round sleepers. Semi-guppy league, though, so I got a lot more top players than you can reasonably expect in a better-informed league.

 In my perfect reasonable world, I have one stud WR whom I know, barring injury, starts every week. Then I have a #2 guy who I'm confident in but could be replaced (Maclin, Jennings types), one guy I expect to put up big weeks but likely inconsistent (Wallace, Hilton, Sanders). Then I back up the #2 and 3 with upside guys (Hunter, Benjamin), giving me 5. If I have room for a 6th, flier type, cool.
