Define comfortably however you see fit. In the hypothetical lottery winning thread, we have a lot of folks saying they'd stop working and travel the world. They'd work less and just enjoy life more. They'd help their friends, family, and neighbors. Apparently none of these things are doable unless they hit a multi million dollar jackpot.

I don't think I could work any less and live comfortably. I might be able to shave another hour or two but I work a shade under 30 hours a week (on average, some weeks are insane). I enjoy my work. I could find another company that would pay more and require me to put in a lot more hours, but why? I have enough money for my bills, am able to save a bit, have a relatively flexible employer, travel, and have free time for a social life. I could live someplace nicer and travel in luxury if I worked more, but I don't see a real reason to. I live below my means and am usually about as stress free as a person can get.

How many hours do you currently work and how many hours could you cut it down to and still be okay?

I only work 50% of the year. When I do work, I'm usually home by 4. I can't really work less.

My work hours now are mostly 830-5, then I'll usually leave work around 530 after messing around a bit (either talking to people or surfing the net), so that's 42.5 hours in the office but not working the whole time.

Could probably cut a couple hours a week and still be fine with this office but I wouldn't want to do that. This is the best job I've had, schedulewise and I like the people.

My hobbies consist of thinking of ways to make money. And since I am a marginal web develops it isn't hard to use my non job work time working on my side stuff.
