How Much wind is too much for a kicker? (1 Viewer)

Was going to play Josh Brown Sunday vs Carolina

weather is predicting windy 22 mph

So i am debating playing Elam tonight instead of taking the chance on the wind with Brown Sunday

Is 22 ish mph enough wind to affect a decision on a kicker??

Sorry big playoff game and an interesting thought IMO.

Opinions?

Elam vs. Houston > Brown against Carolina w/weather conditions

Kickers are a coin toss but that would be my guess.

I dropped Gastkowski for Kris Brown for this very reason. No reason to risk inclement weather with your kickers. While they're a justifiably overlooked position, they score a ton of points. The reason they're overlooked is because every kicker scores 7 or 8 points. But a kicker in bad weather could easily drop a 1 or a 2 on you, and that's not worth any potential upside come playoff time.

Ryan Longwell--he's playing in a dome. they should have plenty of scoring opportunities and he can kick the long ones

Don't think too much in the Playoffs. Who knows if this storm even hits. And even if it does, does that mean you have 30 mile an hour winds the whole game? NO!!!

Don't overthink in the Playoffs. Ride the horse that brought you there. Gostkowski is a stud. Ride him!

I'll stay with J.Brown, the point potential is too juicy and Seattle does not hesitate to boot the long ones, besides even if the winds are 15-23mph his strong leg makes for some long field goal tries with the wind. 50+=5pts=GOLD.

Bad news: New long snapper this week. Seattle cut Boone Stutz after the camel died.Good news: Can't get any worse? Arguably not.

i've got gostkowski also...but debating on picking up either kaeding vs detroit (in san diego) or bryant vs the falcons with jeff garcia back (in tampa).

another kicker that might be on your waiver wire (altho not in mine) with a nice matchup:

ryan longwell also has a great matchup vs the bears, and he's in a dome.

Pointing out also that Gostkowski had 2 FG and 3 xp's in the game against Baltimore where there were 25+ mph winds
