How old is your league? Post your first team. (1 Viewer)

My first FF league was a free redraft online hosted on sandbox.com in 1997. It had 3 IDP slots. Some of the players I definitely remember having are Steve Young, Jeff George, Terrell Davis, Robert Smith, Rod Smith. The next season, I drafted Kordell Stewart #1 overall. 😬

My longest running league started in 2006. I won the inaugural championship. Starting lineup in bold.

1990 my FFL league.  We started as TD only (With 3 IDP's 1 DL, LB, DB who only get pts for sacks or Ints) for the first 20 years then added some yardage scoring (1 per 20 yards rush, 1 per 50 passing)

My fist ever pick was Neal Anderson Chi RB

I hope not to jinx it by saying this I have still never had a losing season in this league after 31 years.  (Barely got by last year at 7-6 after 1-4 start with Barkley going down)

My home league which is still going, started in 1997. I do not remember my team other than I had a high 1st pick and Emmitt Smith was the 1st draft pick I ever made. He had 25 tds 2 yrs prior and 15 the previous yr before I drafted him. I did not like the Cowboys or Smith at the time and I learned a valuable lesson. Don't draft guys you don't like or feel good about, he didn't have any tds the 1st 6 weeks of the season and finished the yr with 4. If you take someone you like and they bomb, oh well, but if you take someone you don't like to begin with an they bomb the suck is much more pronounced.

My main league started in 2003. 6 of the 12 original members are still in it which is pretty good since we were around 18-20 years old and didn't know what we were doing. It's really grown and evolved into a major event over the last 10 years or so where we've had very little turnover. I don't remember my entire team but I do remember landing Ahman Green, Torry Holt, Matt Hasselbeck and Anquan Boldin. Those guys all had massive years and were big ADP values for me as they career seasons. I had a top 3 team and finished 3rd. Having such an awesome team and doing so well definitely pulled me in to the hobby.

I don’t remember my first team but I remember my first pick in both my leagues.
My first pick in my oldest league, a 3 keeper expansion draft, was Andre “Bad Moon” Rison.

A year later I drafted my first team in another keeper expansion draft. I took top rookie RB K-Jana Carter. (Ooops)

Both leagues are still going strong. Both over 25 years old. One with high-school buddies, one with college buddies.

My first year was 1999.  I remember that my first two picks were Favre and Galloway when he held out.....pretty bad start.  But I took Cris Carter, Emmitt Smith, Duce Staley and Wesley Walls with 4 of the next 5 picks.....pretty good.  Got Rich Gannon, Charlie Garner and Patrick Jeffers off the WW, turned Garner into Tim Brown, so my final lineup was

QB - Favre and Gannon (superflex)

RB - E Smith and Staley

WR - Carter, T Brown, Jeffers

TE - Walls

Steamrolled to the championship despite screwing up my first two picks.

I think I am the leader in the clubhouse.  My first league started in 1985.  I was in 8th grade.  I have no idea what my first roster was because it was all done by hand.  We had to provide 16 self addressed stamped envelopes to the commish to get results each week.  All the stats were from the LA Times.   That league is still going strong with about 80% of the same league members.

I started in 1985, and know the league (still going strong) started at least the year before, but I believe 1983 in Denver. Its always been and remains16 team and SF.

How does it feel to be the elder statesman of the FBG Forum?   We should get some special badge on our signature or something for being the oldest continuous players of this sport...hahahaha

1989.  I don't remember the entire roster but Randall Cunningham was my 1st pick every.  Dude was great for a few seasons but I've learned alot since then lol.

ETA:  We no longer have to provide SASE's to the commish prior to the season.
Love this. A bit later but started my freshman year of college (fall 1989).  We'd get together Sunday nights to watch NFL Primetime and talk crap if our guys scored.  Didn't show all the scores so the next step was a USA Today on Monday mornings to "finalize" our scores until the Monday night game.  Watching Monday night games if it was a tight match was a ton of fun as well.  I really miss those simpler times.

2001 Dynasty - 26 player rosters

1. Randy Moss

2. Jamaal Anderson (the year he tore an ACL if I recall right)

3. Corey Dillion

4. Steve McNair

5. Daunte Culpepper

6. Terry Glenn

Other notable picks include Lavernues Coles, Az-Zahir Hakim, Tai Streets, Antowain Smith, Jeff George

Inaugural rookie draft in 2001: Kevan Barlow, Travis Henry

Trying to remember when I was in my first league…newspaper scoring, of course. Somewhere around 89 or 90.

I started at my current company back in 96 and there was a work league that had been running for a year already, and I’ve been in that league ever since. This year is my 26th(!!!!) year in that league. Just nuts.
