How to check MFL scoring on restricted internet access (1 Viewer)

KellysHeroes

Footballguy
Any ideas, my job blocks some of the MFL servers (but not all of them) and can't install game day. Any other site where I can give the league ID and receive the score.

Thanks

You can't connect via your iPad because you are connected to your work WiFi, right? What about if you connect 4G via your phone or iPad. It is a completely different network and it cannot be blocked so long as you are able to get a cell phone signal.

Thanks but that won't work, no mobile devices allowed. Gotta leave all that stuff in the car.

Sounds like they're pretty serious about the security thing.

Maybe not attempting to circumvent that is the best option.

Or finding a different job.

my brother works for DoD contractor who is the same way... and i'm with you, not certain i'd risk my job over FF scores...

though sounds like you just need to find another domain that isn't blocked, and then have it pull in XML data from MFL to display your league's scoring...

do any of your league, or buddies know much about web? pretty simple to set up - but requires at least a little web knowledge to do.

pretty much in the same boat as you brother, Yahoo fantasy is allowed though the pipe and so is some of the MFL servers; plus all the workers here play FF so I'm not worried about my job. And FF is pretty tame compared to what some of these other guys are looking up and watching :) .

MFL results are XML based, If you use outlook you should be able to post one of these in there as a "newsfeed." XML and RSS are...idk similar to cousins rather than explain with more detail.

Should be able to use a a free proxy, Vtunnel always works around restricted access. https://www.vtunnel.com/
Any company that locks you down that much will make you sign a terms of use policy. I'm betting doing something like this violates that. A very simple browser check will find this. That being said, very few companies have the resources to do that search unless someone tells HR or IT to look at your history. If that happens, you probably get fired.

Thank you Fanatic, I'm a little nervous about tunneling as well and not going to risk it.

Browser check. That is funny.

I work in an IT dept and we have to pretty much block the outside world on the web. It doesn't matter what browser you use, even the new darling Tor browser, you're not getting this info.

The nice way to play network security is to block whatever sites the company tells you to and then it's done one by one. The safe way is to block everything and turn on the access to whatever is asked of you. Most do the latter nowadays.

If vtunnel's IP is not in our allowed list, you're not getting there.

Our new problem was people hooking cellphones up to usb drives to access the outside world. They make usb locks and we fixed this quickly.

Still if people here work for a bank or a hospital or some gov't institution with all this personal data, soon -if not now- your web access at work is going to be extremely limited.

I'll have to give this a shot
you have to look at their coding page to get the exact URL you want. There's one for about everything in their menu.

At my office, I use an RSS reader and type in the XML feed in because I hate outlook but I do realize many people like the program.

gave it a quick attempt and it was still blocked. Is there any detail set of instructions on how to do this?

Thanks

not if it's still blocked wow that's secure, usually RSS is ok

I'll think on this, sorry that usually works. Right now I don't have any ideas and it's getting near game time

you can try these http://www.toplistproxy.com/

actually they didn't exist as websites until like the last week so if those don't work, your IT dept pretty much runs on a block everything policy like I mentioned earlier where you'd have to ask for something to be allowed.

I doubt an IT department would check your browser. They would just look at their log of your network access to see what IPs you accessed.

Here's a possible method that would avoid any restricted network connections.

On your home computer, grab something like JitBit Macro Recorder that can copy your mouse and keyboard actions and make a macro out of it that you can replay. Then make a macro of yourself opening a web browser, going to the live scoring, copying the contents and then emailing the contents to yourself at work.

Then set the macro to run on a loop every 15 minutes or however often you wish. That way no restricted access from your work machine.

FFltools working for anyone else?
Auto-refresh doesn't seem to be working.
Yeah, I was just basically showing their "mobile view" page, It looks like it was caching the results and not updating very well.

I just released a new version that talks directly with their api and should be much more accurate. You'll need to refresh the page to get updated stats, but it should show the most current that MFL has for your leagues.

Have you tried this :

1. Figure out what server your league resides on. To do that, either go to your league home page from home (or someplace else from where you're not blocked), or ask one of your league mates what server you are on. The "server" is the part of your league home page address after the "http://" - so, if your league home page address was, say, http://football5.myfantasyleague.com/2013/home/12345 , the "server" would be football5.myfantasyleague.com.

2. Given your "server" listed above, look up your "IP Address" in this table below.

www or football.myfantasyleague.com = 64.73.54.89

www2 or football2.myfantasyleague.com = 64.73.54.15

That update looks awesome, thanks.
