How to value potential free agents and RFAs...? (1 Viewer)

If the stay is upheld and the lockout is subsequently upheld, we will likely miss some games. I would assume that if a last second BDA is worked out and we have a season, there would still be no free agency this season.

If the stay is not upheld, then we will have free agency under some old rules that would basically limit UFAs to 6yr guys, right (and UFAs that did not receive a tender)? That means all those tedners that were offered in February would be valid. And RFAs that did not get a tender would become UFAs.

First, how do you value guys like DeAngelo right now? I think he was tendered at 1st round level. If the stay is lifted and we have free agency in a week or so, will someone try to claim him? He's more proven than Ingram, but older. Would someone really trade a 1st round pick, plus a sizeable contract to get DeAgelo, or is it almost certain that he will stay with Carolina this year? If DeAngelo stays, Stewart and Goodson take a huge hit for 2011, obviously.

Sidney Rice is nother interesteing prospect. He also received a 1yr tender, but he's younger and presumably more vlauable as a WR. Woulnd't there be a team out there that would be willing to fork over a 1st round pick for rice, plus pay him a sizeable contract?

I don't think Braylon was extended a tender at all, so he will be unrestricted right? His value could be through the roof if a team like the Rams or Patriots signed him.

And how risky is it that certain players will have their values crushed by a potential free agency? Is Moreno safe yet? Could Denver go after DeAngelo, or trade for Pierre Thomas or Tashard choice? Or would they be satisfied with singing someone like Reggie Bush or Darren Sproles?

Will Tampa Bay add Bush or Sproles? How vlaueable could those guys be in a different offense? (for the record I think Bush still has upside and Sproles does not)

It is very difficult to value players appropriately right now because of how hard it is to lay odds against these various potential transactions ocurring. I would love to get some feedback from others on how they see things shaking down, realisticlaly.
