How will scab refs affect fantasy? (1 Viewer)

I'm curious what effect, if any, the use of scab refs will have on the balance of fantasy scoring this year. I tend to think it'll favor the offense a bit, particularly in the running game as I would think that lineman would be able to get away with more holding fouls and the like. Conversely, refs might be more gun-shy about throwing "big flags" like pass interference which might cause DBs to take more liberties overall.

What do you guys think?

More late hit penalties etc (if this is possible) as they try to protect the stars, so offenses on the field more. Honestly I thin you will see the stars of the league getting the calls they look for. Could be a bit of a starstruck ref issue. Nobody wants to see Payton Manning get his head taken off, if he gets breathed on wrong theres gonna be a flag. I grant you this isn't much different from the full time refs.

I think conversations between refs will take a little longer, challenge issues may take slightly longer but I don't think they'll blow up the game or anything. We'll have some good crews and bad crews but my feeling is that the media like an Espn will be waiting to pounce on any mistake to make it a big issue so that it can be discussed at nausea on all of their 1/2 hour talk shows when really it's not that big of a deal.

Very little...the NFL is the only major league without F/T refs (which is why this is all happening), so no matter how many years experience these guys have, not one of them dedicate more than 75% of their professional life to the craft. If there is a major issue, it tends to be reviewed, so I can see one way where there may be a difference...the new refs do not know the rules. If I am the NFL, that is the "deal breaker" when hiring someone, so it should not be too much of an issue. The area I think the scabs could struggle with is the limelight. Specifically getting bullied by players and coaches. If a ref listens to Ray Lewis when he says he is being held excessively (and buys into it because he is Ray Lewis), that is a problem. Beyond that, they will likely miss more calls (that go either way) so it should it should just even out in the long run.

I believe they are full time now. If all of preseason week one's games go like the HOF game this thing will be settled by week 3 of preseason at the latest.

This new rule where they automatically review every turnover is kind of rediculous. Isn't that why they have coach's challenges? It adds unnecessary time to the game IMO.
