How would Jennings fair without Driver this week? (1 Viewer)

The Rams are actually showing some life on "D". So, they aren't a pushover. I'm wondering though if Jennings can put up decent numbers if he were shifted in the WR1 spot on the team.

I like them being at home.

I like his big play ability

The lack of a running game, their "O" runs thru the air

If the pack has to roll with their practice squad WR's (NFL total access listed the names of the WR's practicing with the team this week... whooo dey?), I'm kinda scared to think of Jennings as a starter this week.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't be scared... the targets will definitely be there. He had 10 on Monday night and I can only see that number increasing.

If Jon Kitna to Mike Furrey works against the Rams, why wouldn't Lord Favre to a very surprising (and fast) Jennings?

Moving to a WR1 position is not always a good thing. He's getting plenty of targets now, and part of that is that 1) he's not being doubled and 2) he's not drawing the top CB.If the only WR you have to worry about is Jennings, I think his value DROPs, not improves.

The Rams ain't showing that much life on D, + if Driver can't go, or is less than 100%, the drunken wonder K-Rob will fit right in.

Ah, is Jennings a Peerless Price or a Reggie Wayne.Take away the one, is Koren even playing. Even so... Donald Driver is a top 12 WR in the NFL... who defenses worry about more than Jennings.

If I'm STL, I center the secondary around Jennings, and let WR #2 (not Ferguson, Robinson??, whom??....) try to beat them.

You're right, The Rams 'D' only leads the NFL in takeaways.
Week 1 they gave up 161 rushing yards.Week 2 they gave 361 overall yards & 233 in the air from the 49er's

Week 3 they gave up 360 overall yards 104 ground & 256 air.

Week 4 they gave up 373 overall yards 93 ground & 280 air.

The takeaways are great & all, but they are giving up the yards.

I think he will be the main focus but don't believe he switches to Driver's spot. I assume they'll let him play where he's comfy and not ask him to learn a new position. Having Koren learn(he has to learn the O anyway) Driver's spot seems more natural. trivial nitpicking, sorry.

Rams D(like any Haslett D in better times) sends the kitchen sink at the QB to rattle them and limit the time for the coverage. He's no BB or **** Lebeau or Dungy but Haslett makes a go of it anyway. Often times, this leaves the team quite susceptible to the deep ball as long as the QB recognizes it and isn't afraid to take a shot as he throws to give the WR that extra last second of time. I'd figure that plays right into Favre and Jennings and they'd love that. I expect a nice game by Jennings. If not, Koren and Martin will have a sweet week. Someone's gonna be wide open when he sends that many to rush and IMO Favre's experience is the worst thing for Haslett to face with such a mentality

BTW Driver participated in individual drills and may play this week:

Blackmon (foot) is out; receiver Robert Ferguson (foot) and Hodge are doubtful; receiver Donald Driver (ribs/hip), running back Ahman Green (hamstring), tight end Donald Lee (knee) and linebacker Ben Taylor (hamstring) are questionable.

All eight missed practice.

Driver and Green both took part in individual drills and have a good shot of playing. Green remains bothered by the hamstring he pulled in practice last week, but McCarthy said he thought Green would be ready for the Rams.

Roy and Furrey didn't have issues last week, I think the kid will be fine, and Driver plays...

This thread needs to be killed right now. Don't believe for one minute Driver is not playing. (And I'm not a Driver owner). He will play. The question is how effective will he be. It's obvious Jennings is a descent play this week regardless of if Driver plays or not.
