Bill or Hillary Clinton IMO

Maybe Bruce.

Tough to say right now, because Paul is king for sure
if it's Bruce Gary is an idiot, there is no way he's bigger than McCartney.

Hopefully it's one of the Clintons but doubt it unless he agrees to completely softball it and not ask any Lewinsky questions. Would still be a huge get.

Nicholson, DiCaprio, Pitt could be considered huge as far as actors go.

I missed the Joan Rivers tribute when it first aired and now the EtM tribute. Why do they only replay limited things during their days off? Second time they're playing the Jennifer Hudson interview today.

Interesting question - in the terms of a bigger "get" I think Bruce is bigger than McCartney, especially for Howard's show. McCartney does the talk show circuit from time to time, does cameos on SNL, and is generally more accessible. Springsteen seems to limit his interviews a great deal, and his demographic aligns much more closer with Howard's listeners that McCartney.

So, in the history of rock and roll, of course McCartney is a bigger name than Bruce. But in the world of Howard's show, Bruce might be the biggest get possible - unless it's someone probably impossible to ever land, like Tom Cruise.

Did Artie coin the phrase "doosh chills?" That is part of my daily lexicon -- I'd like to know who to thank.

Never heard that before he said it on the show.

Man they replayed the Bill Murray interview a lot last week. Pretty much on a 24/7 loop from what I could tell.

But the times they play an Artie episode on 101... I'll say it again, damn I miss that guy. He was so perfect for the show. The regular blue collar NY/NJ guy perspective.

Not just the regular guy perspective, but a guy perspective. Howard has surrounded him with people who are too afraid to say anything back to him out of fear of being piled on for hours, so there is no counter point on other topics anymore. Howard went off on a football announcer going crazy and then he started just making fun of anyone who watches sports. He likes to trash JD for live chatting and stroking to cam girls, that is weird to him and unacceptable, but him hiding in the bathroom with his iPad and wacking it to babysitter porn is OK and normal.

I know it is old news, but anything Howard loves is what everyone must be into and do, otherwise it is a waste of time, money or just plain dumb. It gets old how everyone just slobbers up to him on every stupid thing he likes to do (chess, photography etc)

Think most see looking at porn and sexting with a girl online as completely different stratospheres.

Howard is an ### and a hypocrite. Part of what makes the show good. No one is going around saying Howard is a great guy.

Howard interview with Bill Murray yesterday was pretty good conversation.

Some good deep topics. Not the typical "clown around Bill" stuff.

Was interesting more than funny. Bill is 64 and still trying to get the courage to get his act together per se. As far as happiness goes. Perhaps that is more the norm and Bill comfortable airing that out. Sounds like a guy who has a lot of fun but not that happy. Worse things.

Not sure how often it comes up on the show, if ever, but Howard and Beth do a lot of work for the North Shore Animal League and they are constantly fostering rescued cats. My wife and I officially found out yesterday that we'll be getting one of the kittens currently living in the Stern house.

Which means in all likelihood Beth will be in my apartment in a couple weeks.

 Just every day. Or should I say 10-12 days a month.

Beth was at our place for about 45 minutes earlier. She was really nice and it was weird hearing her talk about Howard like he's a normal person.

While she was sitting with my wife on our bedroom floor, it was hard keeping certain thoughts out of my head. She's really beautiful in person.

That's cool!

I saw her one time when I was working on an event for North Shore Animal League. She really is stunning in person. Even hot pics of her don't do her justice.

I saw her interviewed on 60 Minutes and she came off as borderline ######ed. Is she really that stupid?

She married a billionaire and spends her time volunteering and working out. Pretty sure she's much smarter than both of us.

Looking forward to Benjy's interview with her. It sounds like he went to the Chris Yandek school of interviewing. Should be exciting.

two things

1. I thought Benji did a nice job with the beth interview. I was actually interested in the fact that she cheated. My wife thought it was overkill and hates him

2. The Sal and Richard call with the old lady where they are on the phone for 5 minutes saying goodbye makes me laugh every time I hear it or think about it

Richard saying Au revoir :lmao:

Robin has been butting into more and more interviews lately and she nearly destroyed the ac/dc interview that way. Those guys can barely put 2 words together and she asked them something so dumb it was astounding.

Martin Short interview about as good as it gets. Didn't think I could like Short more. Bravo.
Just listened to this. It was very good. Not terribly entertaining, but good and interesting.

I learned this guy had more grace than most celebrity types. His comments regarding Kathy Lee were pretty impressive.

It's funny to hear how many of the old SNL guys had love affairs with Gilda. Between his comments and comments made by Bill Murray in an interview a couple of months ago - it sounds like she was quite a heart breaker.

I thought it was funny when Howard mentioned Keith Richards/Mick Jagger and Joe Perry/Steven Tyler all ripping on one another in books they have written.

And asking them how they avoid that type of petty fighting.

I don't know which one of them replied but he said: "The key is - not reading."

---ETA - yes....Robin is really annoying as anything through these interviews and IMHO - never brings anything to the interview.

Yeah had to visit her work. The Judy Miller Show skit pretty impressive. Hard for one person to pull that off. Was digging her legs. : )

Today was Freds best work during Robins News since the early 2000s.

Fast forward to the last 5 minutes for the best part of Robin counting down songs of the year, Howard using mic modulation to sing the songs and Fred dropping clips of Richard Simmons, George Takei, Gilbert and Yoko singing.

I nearly lost while driving. Vintage Robins news all around

:goodposting:

That was hilarious.

Chris Rock interview was good.

Loved the riff on how woman are free to analyze a guy for marriage but if a guy does then he's unsure. And if you're unsure she's not the one. Like the guy has to be romantic about it all. Was along those lines.

I think Ralph is the worst caller. Do I need to even explain?
Think he's a great caller. He's an insider and he also allowed to go after those on the show. He doesn't do it much anymore. But over the year's has led to some great stuff.

Also love the Artie story of how Ralph pocketed some of the tip that was supposed to go to the waitress. He's a miscreant but what makes him entertaining.

I got no problem with the 7am start and I voted for Bobo.
I will if they line it up so that the 7am hour is replayed starting around 5pm and I think that is exactly what will happen. So people working 8-5 will hear the same hour on both commutes. They do the same thing on the Thursday/Friday replays, playing the interviews from earlier in the week in the same time slot.

Yesterday, Howard said the Sony information breach is the same as the 9/11 attacks. The Daily News calls him on that and he gets all bent out of shape. I heard his comment yesterday and thought he was way out of line and am glad someone called him on it.

I was driving when I heard it yesterday so I may have misheard but I took it to mean not literally like 9/11, saying it was like 9/11, a terrorist attack. I seriously doubt he thinks the Sony hack is on par with what happened on 9/11.
