I agree. If drinking bleach and stabbing yourself in the stomach 7 times isn't rock bottom, there isnt much lower you can go.

ugh. and the appearance on Crashing was supposed to be his renewal (or something).
He did Pete Holmes's podcast with Judd and broke down toward the end and had to leave the show after telling a story about his mom saying she would continue to work 2 jobs so that he could pursue his stand-up comedy dream back in the beginning. Pete and Judd had previously tried to ask him some questions about how he sees himself getting better or what the future will look like. He didn't really have any answers and ultimately just has a fatalism about life that can maybe never be cured.

yeah i have seen more and more with Artie really pissing on Howard too. some podcast with him and Gangie (of all people) just ripping Howard like they have been. Seemed a lot more pathetic though, like something else was going on. Sad really, but the guy needs to really get some legit help. Shame cause he was on top of the world for a bit there

I didn't hear their full discussion of this, but referenced on a show a week or 2 ago that this was a heroin OD.
Guests this calendar year have been non-existent or boring. McConaghey was not bad and Joe Buck semi-interesting, but that's about it. Been on vacation a lot, too. My sub comes up for renewal soon. Thinking about dropping it.

I actually feel bad for JD. Guy wants to get married, so he asks his gf and posts her positive response on twitter. Howard goes ballistic on him for not doing it or announcing it on air. Now obviously Howard would have loved him to do this on air for the show, but this is the guy's real life here. Howard is willing to exploit his staffers future for an hour of laughs. Next comes the wedding plan abuse. What? Not inviting Howard to some low end wedding up in Michigan? How dare he!!

She was a listener of the show and they met because of the show. Not too much to ask to announce it on the show. Besides, he set himself up for abuse because of the way he did it. How did he not see it coming and know how to avoid it. Howard actually really likes JD and has done a lot for him. Where else would he be without the show?

I get the point, but Howard was way over the top about the initial engagement announcement. I wouldn't care about Sal or Benjy or most anyone else, but JD has always been the most loyal and hard-working and non-attention-seeking person on the show that it just felt like he Howard was beating a wounded animal. I haven't heard the actual wedding planning stuff.

So JD would had to have announced it during the 36 hours a month that Howard actually works. JD should have picked one the MANY vacation weeks they go on.

From what they have said on the show the dude shows up at midnight and pulls huge hours. That's #### pay.

That's why it pisses me off that Howard stopped the block parties. This was a nice way for his guys to make some extra coin and he shuts it down because he didn't like his name associated with their shenanigans. Greedy bastage.

Most people speculate that the salaries are low, but I don't know what that is based on. My gut is that they are decent. Some of them have to work really, really hard and I'm not buying that they would put up with it. Maybe JD would actually, but I think that Howard knows how valuable he is to the show.

So Howard wasn't live yesterday and cancelled the show. Fred the Elephant Boy and Jeff the Drunk have posted on Twitter that Howard's dad died. It isn't verified but there are other things that hint toward this.
Sad if true, but at least now, heaven will be properly modulated.
Also, Jeff the Drunk's tweet said a gofundme has been set up to help howard with the funeral expenses.

"The Record Company" was on the wrap up show yesterday. I saw them live a few months ago. Really good show. They're touring now, and if you like live music in smaller venues, I highly recommend them.

Said the same to my wife last night. He announced a guest for the show so he was definitely coming in.

No idea if it's true but I'm sure he'd keep it close until the next show.
He also recounted on Monday's show a recent incident where he called his parents to say he wanted to stop by for a visit, but his dad said that it was too late, and he made a bit about it, so if his dad was seriously ailing, I would think that it would have been described differently (or not at all).

Caller on Tuesday said brought up the fact that Howard seemed like he was in a particularly bad mood on Monday and was there something going on in his life. Howard said yes and that he would talk about some day, but not now.
Supposedly Ben Stern was being talked about in the present tense on the most recent wrap up show and there is a lot of speculation online that Howard and Beth are having problems. I haven't heard any of these segments, but supposedly the last few times she's been on the air, she's been pretty hostile or something.

Not surprising that he and Beth would be having problems. They have little in common--he's smart and she's really quite slow. Watch the 60 Minutes segment to see what I mean. He also gets grumpier by the day.

I don't think the "she's an incredibly nice person" thing is an act but I have to think she's a MASSIVE pain in the ### with all the cat stuff. I couldn't imagine a germ freak like Howard being happy about having 55 foster cats walking all over his $15 Million apartment. That alone has to drive him absolutely insane. Don't think they have like 9 litter boxes? Jesus Christ.
Add in the fact that Howard never wants to do anything and what I'm sure is some resentment on her end with not having kids and its a recipe for disaster.

I think everything is speculation until he comes in Monday morning. You know after the #### he gave JD there is no way anyone is going on twitter. Sorry, but Im not believing a tweet from Jeff the Drunk and Elephant Boy until someone not deranged confirms it.
I wouldnt expect the marriage to be in trouble but what do I know. Money makes things a bit easier. I would understand her being upset about the no kids but he seemed to have made it pretty clear that he wanted nothing to do with that.

I don't know if the number is 55, but they foster an absurd amount of cats. And he has definitely mentioned an abnormal amount of litter boxes throughout the house to accommodate

I believe it was radar online that talked to the mom and she said that Ben was alive but not home to speak to them on the phone. So maybe the guy is hospitalized or maybe it is nothing.

That's great of him, really great, but with his ridiculous money he couldn't pay for another place for them to stay with access to 24-hour care? Why in the hell would he bring that into his house????
