Not saying he should replace Artie or be in as much as George Takei but they should bring him in for a day every few months. He wouldn't sit in the Artie chair but did sit in George's. He said since Howard might retire he just wanted to sit in for a whole day and see what it was like while he had the chance. He came in around 7AM and stayed for the whole show.

Agreed. Guy was excellent and you could tell he knew the show. I was dying when he already knew about Becks Beer and the German purity law of reinheinskiboot.

Love how excited he got when he found out his mom is on Mr. Skin. :wall: And one point while the Sibian guy was talking about the 100's and 1000's of women, Arquette was sounding like J.D. in the way he couldn't get his thought out.
 
When Arquette asked Martina Navritalova today "If a Sybian ride was out of the question", I laughed for about 10 minutes. Perfect timing!

 
The best was when the Sybian guy said "aren't wives off limits here" and Arquette said "no, he calls my wife Courtney ####"

It's one of the most creepiest fantastic quotes ever.I actually planned on using it next time I got intimate with my wife just to see how she reacts (she doesn't listen to the show).
 
Just listened to the Lupe Fuentes interview

I could not stop laughing when Howard said that George Takei was an admiral in the starfleet command. It just went perfectly with the interview

is it me or has the show really picked up in the last few weeks. There was a time that I thought he was mailing it in but it has been great of late

The interview with Tila Tequilla was the worst thing I had ever heard though. When he took some calls, I was happy to know I wasnt the only one who felt that way

Search for "Howard Stern poison" on YouTube.I'm not a big fan anymore, but I happened to hear that show and it was gold.

This has coincided with more guests being back in the studio, including Takei and Arquette. I still think that Howard is an entertaining performer on his own, but he needs more people to play off of to keep it fresh.I don't know why there was so much hate for Tila Tequila. Not my favorite thing ever, but far from the worst.

 
The Tila Tequilla interview was brutal.

Howard- "So what kinda stuff do you do?"

Tila- "Oh......I'm just very SENSUAL. I just do lots of SENSUAL stuff. I say lots of SENSUAL things"

If she didnt have a great ### and the necessary lack of self esteem to whore herself out to VH1, nobody would know who the hell she is.

Had me cracking up. Howard was on fire.

Not a friendly reception for Beth's book. Can't say I'm surprised - it seemed like the project of someone who just likes dogs and not a qualified expert. At least the product tags on Amazon are funny.

The show has been great lately. I liked Artie but its definitely better since he has been gone.

Although I did miss Artie today with all the Jeff the Drunk stuff.

Howard mentioned that he spoke to him on the phone a couple of weeks ago. I'm guessing he'll come back one day as a guest but not again as a regular. Even if he wanted to, I just don't think he's needed. The show has been better without him.
 
wow, he was crushing Stamos. Seemed harsh. Wonder what the real backstory is. Almost felt like a breakup over the radio.

Also, based on a post above I googled "artie current status" or something similar. Found a thing on babygorrilla.com where Bob Levy was stirring up #### regarding how the show dealt with Artie's problems.

Did they ever address Levy's problem with the show. he seems to have just disappeared.

UPDATE: Stacey Lange's statement about Artie Lange was reportedly made to Penthouse writer Jessica Pilot "about a month ago".

Artie Lange's mental status and most recent whereabouts have finally been updated, and the news about Howard Stern Show's absent "baby gorilla" isn't great.

An interview Artie Lange did with Penthouse Magazine before his suicide attempt was released Wednesday, and included the first family-approved update on where and how well the Howard Stern Show sidekick is recuperating.

Artie Lange called Farley and Belushi deaths 'pathetic' (photo slideshow)

The Penthouse article stated:

"Lange has been laying low since the suicide attempt, spending time with his mother Judy and his sister Stacey, who reports that Artie is 'still in bed and not speaking more than five words a day.' Artie's sister canceled his shows in Las Vegas and at Foxwoods, as well as a few club dates for New York that were scheduled for June and July."

This is the first official statement from a family member of Artie Lange since the comedian's suicide attempt by stabbing in January. All other reports on Lange's post-attempt status have come from stories leaked to tabloid outlets and the occasional cryptic on-air statements from Howard Stern Show members who were trying to respect the family's wishes for privacy.

When asked by a Penthouse reporter what he was "passionate" about, Artie Lange stated: "Work. I have nothing else to be excited about. It sucks."

The Penthouse article also quoted Artie Lange as saying: "Getting on The Howard Stern Show is the greatest thing that ever happened to me."

would love to see/hear that. i'd pay $5 per month (or more) for access. if howard actually controlled his entire budget, he could easily put out a lot more content. I just get the feeling that so much of his leverage with Mel is washed away since its just ad dollars and subscriber fees. One is only loosely tied to the show and the other not at all.point being, we would see tons of animations, more stuff out on the street like what Stuttering John used to do, better stuff from sal/richard since they could take it anywhere in the world and pull their stunts

I only caught a little bit of that interview with Stamos. I heard about all the party stuff the other day. Seemed ridiculous that Rickles would even have a problem with it in the first place if him and Howard arent close.Also, what is the deal with Howard and Robin not remembering the things they talk about on air

Disagree big time.Granted, I've only been a listener the past 10 years (I'm only 28 and Howard didn't get to Cincy until I was 18 I think), so I've really only been an Artie-era listener. But, I think Artie was a great, great part of the show. These days it's too much Robin. She never shuts up. I'm sick of daily stories about her charities and the like. It's awesome when Howard busts her balls about it, but it just gets stale after a while. Artie's personal stories and takes on daily happenings are truly missed by me. A lot.

One thing I do find interesting though....and one of the reasons I truly believe Howard is gone after December.....when you listen to old shows, he just had this excitement about what he was doing everyday. You could hear it in his voice. Those moments are few and far between now. I don't know how much of it is shtick, but that spark he used to have certainly isn't there. I feel like I truly missed out not hearing him in the 80s (and even 90s).

In early December, I got rid of the car where my Sirius receiver was. I just NOW got it installed in the new car.

Can one of you kind souls briefly tell me what I may have missed in the past 7 months?

A cliff notes version of a cliff notes version is fine. The only thing I know is that Artie is still not back.

 
Lots of speculation about what Howard is going to do at the end of the year when his contract runs out.

Howard and Beth (I'm guessing you know about her book) adopted a "special needs" cat

Robins trip to Guatemala provided tons of material, especially her new theme song. She seems to have calmed down with her diet stuff recently.

Gary has a book coming out "They Call Me Baba Booey"

They did a search for a new wack packer and ended up with some hillbilly but I don't think much will come of it.

Look up "Little Lupe" a spanish porn star who you'll hear a lot of sound bites from.

Richard is engaged to the future Christy Christie

Still nothing about Artie.

Fred is Fred.

Overall it's been very funny but I do get the sense of a show that is winding down. My prediction is he'll take some time off, maybe a year or so, and come back with some kind of pay internet show. I think he's done at Sirius.

this covers a lot. The only other things i can think of are:1. David Arquette sat in for a show one day, and they had the guy who created the Sibion on, and it was some funny stuff. The guy was real creepy2. Gary was caught sleeping by the TV crew and they had it on tape. Ended up being a big argument between Scott Depace and Gary for about a week before they went no vacationsome other random stuff as well, but nothing that ill stick out too much
