Here is what Fox and the GM had to say about Harris:
Fox on the trade for safety Chris Harris from the Chicago Bears: We said we were going to look for safeties. It's a need position. We had the opportunity to get a player that we liked. Hopefully, we'll get him in here as soon as possible and get him indoctrinated into our stuff.
Hurney on the trade for Harris: After the draft, we called quite a few teams and said, "If you have certain guys, certain names that might be available to touch base with us." I think we are fortunate that the Bears have a surplus at that position. They contacted us, and we've had several conversations and reached an agreement on the trade today. We think Chris is guy who will come in and compete. He's smart. He's instinctive. He's a very physical player, and we think that he will come in and help us.
Fox on what he likes about Harris: He's a young player. He does have some experience, starting 20 games. He has been in big spots, both in playoff appearances and even the Super Bowl. He's a young safety that we think has promise.
