Hurricane Sandy (1 Viewer)

Who are we talking about being affected here?Pittsburg (vs. Wash.)Philly (vs. Atl.)NYJ (vs. Mia.)Others? How are things looking in those cities?
Just checked Cleveland accuweather .... steady rain throughout the game; with wind at 15 mph.Was thinking about Cleveland D/ST in this spot .... was hoping to start Gordon.Think I'm all in on the former :banned: but will eschew the latter

its not caused by sandy, but the sd/clv game looks like a bad weather game too. 80% chance of rain and more wind than the philly or ny games....

Enough to sit Weeden and Rivers in a yardage league for Carson Palmer?
How will these games affect receivers?Figure that:GordonJones/ WhiteWallace/BrownMaclin/DjaxKerleyare probably in most people's lineups. My understanding is that rain is not such an issue. It leads more to fumbles than dropped passes. But the wind might be.

Correct. Rain isn't great but I wouldn't bench someone just because of that. If the winds are around 20 mph I'd start the players I was planning to start. But if the forecast is for gusts in the 30s, now I have some decisions to make in terms of quarterbacks, receivers and kickers.

I've seen about five different forecasts so I really don't know what to believe at this point but here's the latest forecast for Philly from The Weather Channel:

Cloudy with occasional rain showers. High 58F. Winds NNE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

a bit windy here in ny. nothing crazy yet and nothing that would concern me if it stayed like this at game time

. yes the Philadelphia game does not look as bad as it once did the Cleveland game looks worse to me

Let's get these games started! I've got 5 guys going in Pitt weather and Philly weather..

Ugh...

Windy here in ny at 10am but no rain yet.....

For those posting "the weather here" please keep in mind your location doesn't show up on the mobile app.

A little "in Philly" or "in Jersey" would be an appreciated reference.

Please?

About 25 miles NW of MetLife Stadium

Cool, cloudy and a little windy here right now.

Wouldn't be anything to worry about if it stayed like this.

So here us a question. What defenses would be good to pick up to take advantage of weather today.

San Diego or Cleveland could be good options. Miami is probably available as well.

Darn, Clev does look worse off vs the East Coast!!! Tough call when you only have Weeden and Vick to choose from??? Please keep the reports coming....

Greeeat. I have Julio and MFloyd. Anyone care to flip a coin?

Makes no difference. I played Minnesota and am starting with a -3 in the hole.

anyone in Philly area right now? National weather says light rain?
Tweets coming from beat writers there are now saying wind gusts expected to be in the 30s and some aren't expecting either team to have success throwing the ball.
Thanks, will be debating Ryan's ability to play probably until last minute
I'm seriously considering benching him for Matt Hasslebeck.
I am rolling with Ryan\White\Julio in a must-win game. I have Matt-H as my backup but leaving him on the bench.

Read the whole thing. Has a piece about Cleveland as well.

The real effects of Hurricane Sandy are not expected to hit Philadelphia until roughly 4 p.m. ET Sunday.

As of 11:10 a.m. Sunday, it was dreary in Philadelphia but there was no precipitation. While there will be scattered showers throughout the area during the Eagles/Falcons game, the wind is not expected to gust over 20 mph. We wouldn't hesitate to start Matt Ryan, Michael Vick and everyone else involved. The worst weather right now appears to be in Cleveland, where heavy rain and wind is already coming down ahead of Chargers/Browns. Other games that are expected to be affected by weather include Jets/Dolphins and Steelers/Redskins, where quarterbacks will be dealing with wet footballs and some wind. Oct 28 - 11:10 AM

wonder where they got this info....weather.com shows winds around 18mph

If anyone has the fantasy channel on Sirius Adam Caplan's going to be talking about the weather in Philadelphia. He's at the Linc. I don't have it so any reports on what he says would be appreciated.

no clue. im trying to decipher this live hurricane tracker at the bottom of this MSN page. Forecasted 39 mph winds moving across the ground at 14 mph, but there is possible forecast error area around PHI

The weather impacts currently in Philly aren't even a result of Sandy, they're a result of the storm system that is moving West to East. This storm system will interact with Sandy late Sunday and early Monday, the result of which will keep Sandy around longer. But Philly shouldn't see the impacts of Sandy itself until around 5 or 6 pm tonight.

The wind forecast in Cleveland is important. Rain with average wind is good for Gordon, but high winds will be problematic as his passes generally travel through the air longer than mother wars.

Kevin Acee (Chargers beat)

"Wind at North end of Cleveland Stadium is wicked. Flags atop goal posts whipping every which way. Rain is steady, sideways at times."

I'm here in Central NJ, midway between Metlife Stadium and the Linc. As of now the wind is barely noticeable and no rain. I'm sticking with Vick and J.Jones.
