Thursday was the best emo band of the aughts. Is there really any debate at this point?

thursday was cool but Taking Back Sunday was better.

Literate and stylish/kissable and quiet/

Literate and stylish (literate and stylish)
Kissable and quiet (kissable and quiet)
Well thats what girls dreams are made of
And thats all you need to know (and thats all you need to know)
You have it or you dont (you have it or you)
You have it or you (dont)

Every emo augt band should worship at the grave of Alkaline Trio and At The Drive In.
Yep. We've talked about Alkaline Trio before, but Thursday is more At-The-Drive-In than melodic and poppy.

But both great aforementioned bands are worthy.

So, just, yup.

ATDI rules.

ATDI has everything except their lyrics make no sense. If you could converge with the Trio or TBS lyrics with ATDI musicality, you got Beatles type ####.

I never thought about their lyrics making no sense; maybe that's why Thursday works for me.

Of course EMO talk led me to a spin of SDRE's 'Diary' this morning on the train ride into work.
Awesome. As soon as I heard this song on MTV, they were immediately special. And I mean that in a good way.

God, I loved this. It was so out of the blue, and so good.

Seven

Brand New was excellent. Deja Intendu and Your Favorite Weapon both great albums front to back.

"The quiet things that no one ever knows" easily my favorite of theirs. I'd love to know who the girl was that broke these guys. Regardless, those teenage broken hearts spurred a lot of great music.

The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me is a landmark album.

Excellent call. Not sure why I excluded it? "Jesus Christ" such an excellent jam. Love "not the sun" too. "At the bottom" from Daisy also.

They came to Pittsburgh over the summer and I missed them. Had to be a great show. No new material = all the classics live.

Dashboard Confessional too mainstream here?  Chris Carrabba is pretty talented.

I will take any and all ridicule but I do like what they put out a decade plus ago.

Nah, not too mainstream. Carrabba is where I'm from, so this has really just meant to suggest discussion.
