I don't want to hear about your Bad Beats anymore... (1 Viewer)

Not that bad, CBB has stuff like this on a regular basis.

There was a game a few years ago that had no points in the final 4 minutes with only 2 points needed to go over.

So 3 missed free throws, a missed layup, and a couple of long jumpers. Bad, but I feel like I've seen worse. When the video got started I figured they were going to miss like 12 straight free throws or something.

Yeah, that would suck to be holding an over ticket there but definitely feel like I've seen and even been a part of worse. One minute to go and no points, it happens. Sure they got some good looks but it will happen again before too long.

The layup was the worst part. Much, much worse than the free throws. A 6th-grader makes that layup.

This was a fun one, last day of the EPL season, Man City playing for the championship, and QPR was close to relegation. QPR was +2100 to win in regulation and +750 to draw, and I had some coin on both outcomes.

:X
How do you score twice in the same minute of soccer?
last 5 minutes.

for some reason, everything after the 90th minute (time that gets added on by the ref for various things- timewasting, faked injuries, substituions, etc) is marked as "90th minute". never understood it.

but it was one of the most amazing ends to any season ever.

Man that is ugly. When that kinda stuff happens you just need to walk away despite the urge to double down on another bet to get your money back.

Can't really say I've ever had a bad beat (at least not like some of the others mentioned here). The closest was the 97 NCAA championship when I bet the under at 158.5, The game was trending to be comfortably under the number but went to OT with the total @ 148 of regulation and ended at 163. I remember thinking "someone just win this damn game please."

Conversely the best win was the 93 NFL playoff game between Buffalo and Houston. I took Buf -2 and they were down 35-3. I changed the channel in disgust but keep peeking back every now and again and every time I did Buffalo was putting points on the board. I'm not normally superstitious but when it became obvious that this was a miracle in the making I kept watching something else. Once it they tied it at 38 I couldn't not watch and could not believe it when Buffalo won 41-38 and covered by 1 point. To have been on the other side of this one would have been absolutely brutal.

I've placed tens of thousands of bets in the past 10 years

This is the worst one I had

I bet o48.5

Wow that is brutal. In less than a half they get to 48, a mere point away from victory for you, then they spend the second half punting. Cincy finally puts a drive together late in the 4th and gets a 1st and goal. Rather than try to extend their 42 point lead with a FG or pass, they opt for 4 straight rushes to turn it over on downs at the 6. Please tell me you didn't watch the 2nd half, that had to have taken years off your life.

There was that one online hand where it was AA v. KQ suited (or high suited connectors of some sort).

Flop came As-A-blank. Turn and rivered the Js and 10s.

My wife and I were over 96% likely to succeed in getting a pregnancy through IVF. Worst bad beat in my life.

Was playing brilliantly and roping in the chip leader right on the bubble of a 1-table tournament. He was trying to steal chips everywhere and I kept hitting back with good hands at the right time. I was making a lot of obvious bluffs that he could never call and keeping him from building a bigger lead. When it came to his next big blind, I looked down and saw A8, and just limped to set the trap. Flop came A-8-8. I made a minimum bet like I was expecting everyone to fold to my weak aggression. I knew it would needle the chip leader. Sure enough, he thought a second then pushed all-in. He figured out of the blind he could represent an 8 and I'd have to lay down any ace, even if I had one. I insta called and turned over my cards. He sheepishly said 'You got me. I thought I could make you fold' and turned over J5 offsuit.

Turn, river, I packed up and left out of the money.
Maybe it's late and I'm not reading this correctly, but where/how did you lose this hand?

 terribleEdit to add: Is it a bad beat if you were never winning? :oldunsure:
That's why I always bet the under, you're automatically winning to start the game.
You bring up a good point....RN's "worst beat ever" was never winning....not once was victory locked up only to have it stolen away.

RN been away from gambling too long, he's now counting on ESPN to provide bad beats.

J-J turn and river. Jacks over eights beats eights over aces.

That makes sense, but he never actually said that's what happened. That's why I was wondering.

Worst beat ever /thread

Barbra gets up with my load in her mouth, goes over to Michael who now has his pants around his knees and spits in on his junk. Be begins rubbing in on his entire genital area while Barbra kissed him. I look at Stacy like WTF? and she looks at me and says, "wow, you guys are hardcore". I had to leave the area so I took Stacy into my room and chilled on the bed. I need to burn the image of this dude rubbing himself with my seed.

I'm guessing he didn't because that was the only possible way he could lose.
