i just seen maurice drew's td run (1 Viewer)

he does look like a freakin midget, but can't argue with the results

there haven't been many feature RBs shorter than 5'8" in last three decades or so...

but one of the last ones was pretty good... joe morris...

We are not going to start comparing Drew to Morris , remember Q Griffin same thing ( too small , yes but Joe Morris ) no Drew is a third down back at best period.

Maurice Drew is not too small. He is short, but not small. Big difference.

He's got what, 30 lbs on the Q?

Maurice Drew may be short, but he isn't small. It isn't easy to pack 209 lbs of mostly muscle on a 5'7" frame. If this guy was 2-3 inches taller, he would have been a 1st round pick and people would be expecting incredible things from him. Because of his size, he fell to the 2nd.

Not many NFL franchises would use a 2nd round pick on a player they feel will only contribute on special teams and as a situational 3rd down back.

He may never get 20-25 carries a game, but I'd expect them to get him on the field quite a bit in the next few years. Once Fred Taylor is out of Jacksonville (or gets injured), Drew is the most talented HB they have left. Greg Jones may jump in for a while, but you can do more things with Drew and he'll be the more feared weapon between the two.

The Jaguars are an offense on the rise and full of young talent that should be together for a while. With Reggie Williams, Matt Jones, and Ernest Wilford spreading D's, I like Drew's chances for success. Mercedes Lewis may prove a valuable traget as well and I think Leftwich will be able to pull it altogether. He just needs to keep himself healthy.

I'm pretty sure that Barry Sanders was that size despite what the official measurements listed on NFL.com said.

I can't recollect a rb with his proportions. He actually looks shorter than the 5'7" he is listed at but the guy's legs are tree trunks (that may be an understatement). In combination with his speed and moves, it will be very hard to tackle this guy or get a real solid hit.

Maurice Drew, measured height/weight/40 time at scouting combine: 5'6 3/4"/ 207 lbs/ 4.39

the only thing that will be funnier than seeing him scurry through & between first level defenders who can't see him until he pops through the hole is that the joke will be on the second & third level defenders that are tasked with corralling him in the open field... when he in the clear & one on one tackle situations, it doesn't matter too much if he is 5'6" or 5'8" or 5'10"...

i have no idea if he can be feature RB (some jaguars insiders reportedly think he can be) or will someday be in RBBC with greg jones, for instance... but he sure is exciting to watch... i guess i like the jags & want him to succeed on that level, but for those who like to root for underdog, if he keeps it up, he will quickly become a fan favorite regionally & maybe beyond... the kind of player capable of taking your breath away & very fun to watch in the open field...
