I love pandora.com (1 Viewer)

Pandora and Spotify serve 2 different purposes for me.

Pandora- is a great way to discover new music you may like, plus creating a playlist with different genres of music. If you keep tweaking thumbs up or down you should keep getting introduced to new variety.

Spotify- you have access to just about every artist/song out there. You have control of creating a playlist with the exact songs you want, no surprises of songs you don't want.

Nah, pandora is weak

I like Pandora for work - I have an eclectic mix which runs from Hard Rock/Metal to Classical and even Movie Soundtracks. I wouldn't ever hear some of the things I do if I had to make the mix myself, and I can just let it run for hours with no intervention except to occasionally thumbup or down a song I like or hate. As far as I know, I can't do that with any of the other services, at least not to the same "hands-off" degree.

How does Spotify work? I just started using Pandora a few months ago (I was a never a big music playing guy until I got my bluetooth speaker) and I mix the following 3 stations...

David Guetta

Calvin Harris

Eminem

I like 95% of the songs that come on and I thumb down the one's I dont like. Pretty painless. Sure some of the songs repeat but thats cuz I only mix 3 stations for now. I also like how I can use the censored versions of the songs so I can listen to Eminem with my son around.

On Spotify, I go find the songs I like and add them to a playlist. Then, I check the recommended page, or similar artists page, when I'm feeling adventerous. mostly, I just like having all the music I want whenver I want. For the most part. For example, Metallica wasn't on there for the longest time, and LEd Zepplin just agreed to put their stuff on there as well. But mostly, you can find anything you want to listen to.

They have a radio function, but i never really use it.

Tell me more about spotify now that google bought Songza I expect them to ruin it quickly and so i'd like to try spotify
