Suggestions?

Previous model was a Black and Decker, pretty high end. Worked very well for 7-8 years but was dropped too often and couldn't withstand the shocks. It still turns on but doesn't heat up so it's time for a replacement. 

I'm looking for a full-size, all-purpose model with good high-end heat for cotton and linen with buttons for both spray and steam. I also prefer the "cork" system for the water-intake over the slide-cover. Those damn slide covers don't do a good job keeping the water in the take. 

Please advise. Or ask your wives and revert.

It feels really light.  That's my biggest criticism.

This is the first one I came across on Amazon and was quickly reminded that I bought the same iron, albeit the older version, back in February of 2012 so I had that trusty thing for 5 long years. Not bad for $50. 

The Prado X3 looks promising though. Will have to read some of the reviews.

I tend to go cheap but the heaviest one of the cheaps. I have had luck with a Hamilton Beech one.

The majority of them die when they start getting the white (or black) stuff, that is within the iron, on your clothes.
