I need a room in a sold out hotel. (1 Viewer)

I need a hotel room at the Radisson in Nashua NH for the Holliday weekend in May.  I need a Saturday May 26th check in, with checkout on Monday the 28th.  I tried my rewards, the gnome, and Xspeedy with no luck.  Does anyone have any tricks for me to get a room at this hotel?  It's for a tournament. Tia.

Go in Friday night on May 25th and pull the fire alarm every hour from 10 pm until 4 am. They will have tons of rooms available to check in on Saturday.

Plenty of time for someone to cancel their reservation. Looks like that hotel has 336 rooms so there are 266 opportunities outside of your group’s 70 rooms.

Call the hotel and tell them you know they're booked up but you know cancellations are a common problem with some hotels, and you'll be happy to take whatever they have. Give them your credit card to place a deposit.

No guarantee but helps your odds of being first alternative.

Get a reservation for before you want to go, check in and don't check out.  Pretty sure they can't make you leave.

We had 70 rooms blocked and I forgot to lock mine down before it was too late.
Oh, you should've said you knew some other hotel guests.   A few days before the date you need, invite those guests to your house for a dinner party and give them some drinks mixed with that mexican water.    They'll be crapping their brains out for days and be forced to cancel.   You'll have your choice of rooms.

The reason this happened is because a u16 team of ours, that usually goes to a different tournament, decided to follow us up north.  The crappy part is that they only found out about our reserved block because a parent who had a sibling with us, told that coach about it.  I really can't believe it.  We have gone for years with no issues.

Call the hotel directly to see if they have availability. If they tell you they don't, ask to speak to a manager. Explain your situation and ask if there's anything he can do. If he says no, then ask him to recommend a hotel nearby. You'll find out if they really have availability or not.

If not, obviously you should sleep with his wife.

Just call the hotel and explain that you're Mr. Johnson's personal valet and unfortunately he needs to cancel his reservation. There's bound to be at least one Mr. Johnson booked for that weekend.

Why would they claim to be out of rooms if there are rooms available?

Don't you think I realize what's going on here, miss? Who do you think I am, huh? Don't you think I know that if I was some hotshot from out of town that pulled inside here and you guys made a reservation mistake, I'd be the first one to get a room and I'd be upstairs relaxing right now. But I'm not some hotshot from out of town, I'm a small reporter from "Rolling Stone" magazine that's in town to do an exclusive interview with Michael Jackson that's gonna be picked up by every major magazine in the country. I was gonna call the article "Michael Jackson Is Sitting On Top of the World," but now I think I might as well just call it "Michael Jackson Can Sit On Top of the World Just As Long As He Doesn't Sit in the Beverly Palm Hotel 'Cause There's No ******* Allowed in There!"

Unfortunately rooms fill up fast for these tournaments. There's 3 places up on exit 8 (1 is a Hampton Inn,  I forget the other 2) I would also call. Out of those 4 hopefully you can take advantage of a cancellation.

Good luck.

Axel Foley!  What a classic!

Post on TripAdvisor that the hotel is going through renovations until x weeks after the event - no hot water at times, construction noises 7A-Midnight every day of the week, no wi-fi or AC available.  Would assume that one of the other 266 rooms will see it and bail.

Make up daily alias for TA and repeat.

Is it a USSSA Tourney?  They don't have a host hotel?  try the Tournament Director

They may have a room out of order for routine maintenance or something that the Reservation Agent might not know about.  The GM or Rooms Division Manager might be able to help him out if this is the case.  That's a long shot though if it's a big weekend for hotels in that area.

Also OP, did you already send out an email to everyone in your room block?  You may have someone who booked an extra room they don't need.

Maybe check with the local prostitution ring and see if they have something booked.  Maybe you can offer to rent one of the girls for the weekend?

Call to "confirm" your reservation. When they show nothing, tell them you are positive one of the parents on the team cancelled your reservation to get back at you for something/ as a joke/ or ask  them how they lost it? and demand that they reinstate your reservation immediately. I mean, you reserved all 70 rooms to begin with, how could you not have one?

Ask the hotel manager why they’re releasing rooms to families that aren’t on your team. Provide them a team list. If they can’t “find” a room for you maybe they’ll bump the last family from the other team that snuck in under your block of rooms.

This seemed the obvious option to me.

Best way to get yourself into a room at a sold out hotel is to hang out at the bar.

I assume the Nashua Radisson bar is packed with dimes.

Post on tripadvisor your best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw some bed bugs there.

Or call the hotel, ask for the manager, then tell him you're Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago.

Are other families from your team also having trouble booking?  These room were blocked for you and your team, correct?  Their sales/res team needs to amend this for you.
