I told ya so! (1 Viewer)

I had a few before the season that seem to be turning out all right:1. Jamal Lewis will outscore Corey Dillon in FFL points  2. Jamal Lewis will make a run at 2k this year :D 3. Kerry Collins will be a top 10 fantasy QB :P but then I also predicted:1. Travis Henry will lead all RBs in FFL points scored  2. Derrius Thompson will be the go to WR in MIA  3. Cbuck will start for the Eagles and completely displace Duce et al... :wall:

This will be an interesting thread to watch throughout the year. Right now my Denver sub .500 is looking pretty bad (in conjunction with the implication that San Diego would be at .500 or better). The Carr/Johnson vs. Harrington/Rogers call is still too early to tell.

I'll play:Edge does not get enough touches to be a Top 5 RB and does not perform at the level he did per touch and will not be a Top 10 RB.Hasselback becomes a Top 5 QB. Warner does not finish ranked in the Top 12.Darrell Jackson ranks in the Top 20 WR.Michael Vick scores fewer fantasy points than last year.Eric Moulds does not rank in the Top 10 WR.

I don't wanna read 'em all, but my biggest predictions this year are:1) Of Hass, Ramsey and TGreen, two of the three will be top-10.2) Of Bettis and Hearst, one will be a starter and top-15 performer, and will well exceed the guy picked ahead of them in their RBBC.3) Torry Holt finally gets the TDs to move him back into the top-10, Randy Moss is the #1 fantasy receiver3) The "fall on your face" most overrated picks this year are, in each category, Kevan Barlow, David Boston and Drew Bledsoe.4) The KC Chiefs have a 2000 Rams type of offensive season.5) Dennis Erickson will make a winning franchise a losing one, but Garcia and Owens will be top-12 performers anyway.Edit: Forgot one: Edgerrin James returns to the top-5 for FF RBs.

David Boston is a cry baby. Hit that one on the head. Did you see him duck on the the jump ball last week. Only player I ever heard contradicting the coach about playing. Coach says yes, Boston say, "I'm taking 2 weeks of so my foot won't hurt when I play."

Last year my "I told you so's" were Vick would be a fantasy superstar, stay away from Boston and the Fun-N-Gun would be a disaster. My Boston prediction led me to predicting a MarTay Jenkins breakout (didn't happen). I also thought the Jets defense would be huge, fantasy-wise. :wall: As for this year, my big one is going to be, again, "I told you David Boston wasn't worth a (insert any round in which you draft him) pick."One more -- "I told you Gannon's run was over."
Got one! I didn't think it would be because of injury, I just didn't have Gannon near the top ten this year.I don't think he would have made it even if he didn't get hurt, with just 6 TDs in 7 games.Looks like Boston is a bust again too.A lot of these predictions were made back in July. I thought it was interesting to look back on them now.

 You nailed #1, 3.1, 3.2, and one-half of #2, 4, and 5.Good job!

Things i was right about:James would be a bustRicky would not be a top 5 RBHenry would not be a top 10 RB(trust me, he wont finish there)Santana Moss would go for 1200 yardsother sleeper WR's included DJax, Tai Streets and Steve SmithHad CJohnson in my top 6 WR'sRMoss #1 WRMany others, i just dont want to brag too much ;) Things i was wrong about:Holmes would not play much this year and if he did he would not play near last years level.(and thats about all i was wrong about) :D

I TOLD you Priest Holmes would be pretty good!I TOLD you Randy Moss was the best WR!I TOLD you Green Bay SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Stephen Davis doing as well as he has... just read my quote in his pre-season FBG's P.O.D.! :D

Hasselbeck being a top 10 QB.

Jeff Garcia being great (before the ankel injury) for the first half of the season despite the back injury.

Kurt Warner being DONE!

Peerless Price sucking big fat booty on his new team.

I'll admit that I was off about Fred Taylor, but I'm reaping the benefits of "having no choice but to draft him" as my #2 RB in my main money league.

And I was also really wrong about Marty Booker... but a lot of us were.

Oh, and I really must take more of my medicine about the whole Priest Holmes thing -- I guess you can't get 'em all right. :bag: Congrats to all of you who had the huevos to actually draft the fellah' despite the pre-season talk about his hip and contract hold-out. The odds really seemed to be stacked against you guys and now you're probably all winning your leagues. I'll tell you this... I'll never bet against the guy ever again, and surely won't make the same mistake next year.

And soon, I'll have been right about Lee Suggs! The Lee Suggs Watch is going strong!

I grabbed Steven Davis in the 5th round of our draft... and I told my league they all missed the boat, and I was right.I grabbed Bulger with my last pick of the draft on a flyer, and it's paid off pretty damn well.

I predicted the Ravens to win the division and for the Rams to make the playoffs.I am on the edge, but it can still happen.

Interestingly enough, not one single person predicted Ricky's collapse before the season (although personally I think rumors of his demise are exaggerated). Several predicted another uber-stud season.

I hadn't seen this thread but I did do my own back on 9/7.

Now that we are just past the half way point I have a few that look pretty good:

T. Holt is a top 3 receiver

Bledsoe plays more like 2nd half of last year rather than 1st half

R. Williams is not in the top 10 in rushing

No playoffs for Oak, Phi, Atl, Pitt, SF, NO, GB, Buf, Mia and NYJ

Cincy, Indy and Car surprise

And a couple that don't look so good:

Brady leads league in td passes

C. Rodgers OROY

Portis leads the league in rushing

TBD:

D. Branch has breakout year

TB vs NE in the SB

Maddox will be a top 10 QB.Stephen Davis will be a top 10 RBDarrell Jackson will outproduce Koren RobinsonEdge will have a repeat of last year. Lots of non-ACL tear related injuries that will leave him questionable for half the games and FBG's unsure if they should start him or not.Moulds will be a bust. He won't be able to handle the double teams thrown at him without Price on the other side.Walker will end up as the #1 fantasy WR for Green Bay this year.Santana Moss will be the #1 fantasy WR for the Jets.
So, everyone remember these statements we made before the season?I feel pretty good about mine. Of course, the Maddox one didn't really pan out. Thankfully, even though I targetted him I didn't get him in either of my leagues. I ended up with Trent Green in both.

Hmmmm. Pretty good overall. I was right on #2 regarding the RBBC situations, didn't have either emerge as the top-15 threat thogh - Hearst was on that pace pre-injury (Barlow, despite a solid EOY and 1 G season must have mostly disappointed the folks who paid 3rd round prices for him).

I'll play:Edge does not get enough touches to be a Top 5 RB and does not perform at the level he did per touch and will not be a Top 10 RB.Hasselback becomes a Top 5 QB.
Nicely done.

QB:Michael Vick will be the #1 QB by a substantial amountJake Plummer will not be a top 20 QB, and will be benched for Steve Beuerlein at some point during the yearRB:Eddie George will not rush for 1000 yardsJames Stewart will finish in the top 15WR:Charles Rogers will have 1000 yardsAshley Lelie will not finish in the top 50TE:Freddie Jones will finish in the top 5
Well, lets see...Never had a prayer with Vick, Stewart, and Rogers due to injury.Dead wrong on Plummer. My general sentiments on Eddie and Freddie were ok, but my predictions both just missed. At least I squeaked in on Lelie, he finished 52nd.

Virtually everything I predicted for this year the opposite happened. Which I'm sure is documented on these boards nicely. :bag:

And as a corallary to that, the more vociferously I disagreed with Jason Wood the more wrong I turned out to be. Past results are no guarantee of future performance. Your milage may vary. For the record:1.Culpepper is a very good NFL qb.2.Tommy Maddox is average at best.3.Stephen Davis cannot play a full season.

Mike Shanahan will get the big 86 as Denver just spirals to a 6-10 season. Old WRs, snake bitten Snake at QB and a predictable running game that will have some success but the defense will be a huge letdown and the tide in the AFC will turn on Denver... :goodposting:
Very prescient.
