IDP Rookie - First Draft (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
Thanks to all who gave this IDP noob advice in trying my first IDP dynasty draft. It was difficult, and now I am wondering how I did. My strategy was to go hard and fast on the LBs (3 in the first 10 picks) and wait on the DL/DB. Here is my IDP roster:

DL (start 2)

Henderson, John JAC DT - 6

Ogunleye, Adewale CHI DE - 7

Suggs, Terrell BAL DE - 7

Udeze, Kenechi MIN DE - 6

LB (start 3)

Brooking, Keith ATL LB - 5

Davis, Andra CLE LB - 6

Greenway, Chad MIN LB - 6

Spikes, Takeo BUF LB - 8

Thomas, Zach MIA LB - 8

DB (start 2)

Parrish, Tony SFO S - 7

Rhodes, Kerry NYJ S - 9

Whitner, Donte BUF S - 8

My thoughts are that the strength is @ LB, although a bit shallow on youth. DL are average at best, and the DBs need work...

The rest of the squad:

Carr, David HOU QB - 5

Favre, Brett GBP QB - 6

Palmer, Carson CIN QB - 5

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB - 6

Davis, Domanick HOU RB - 5

Drew, Maurice JAC RB - 6

Harrison, Jerome CLE RB - 6

Henry, Travis TEN RB - 7

Houston, Cedric NYJ RB - 9

Jackson, Steven STL RB - 7

McAllister, Deuce NOS RB - 7

Clayton, Mark BAL WR - 7

Evans, Lee BUF WR - 8

Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN WR - 5

Jackson, Darrell SEA WR - 5

Jenkins, Michael ATL WR - 5

McCardell, Keenan SDC WR - 3

Robinson, Koren MIN WR - 6

Byrd, Dominique STL TE - 7

Smith, Alex TBB TE - 4

Stevens, Jerramy SEA TE - 5

Stover, Matt BAL PK - 7

Tynes, Lawrence KCC PK - 3

any suggestions on how to improve the IDP (or offense) are welcome! This is the best IDP forum i have come across!

Spikes worries me. Zach Thomas may be good but is getting up in age. You don't have any IDPers that I consider top 15.

As for improving your team when do you have to be at cutdown? Many leagues allow you to add FA's until a week before the season. Try and pickup as many quality players as you can.

Do you have a link to the draft?

I'm a rookie too.

I disagree, at least for this year, Zach Thomas and Andra Davis are top 15 easily.as far as secondary, Kerry Rhodes recorded 86 tackles as a rookie, not too shabby

not a lot in the top 15 but certainly several in the 16-24 range of the FBG dynasty rankings and few top 15 in redraft terms.

Oh well. If it doesnt go well this year, these older guys should make for good trade bait near the end of the year
It may go real well. Like I said I'm a rookie too. Try and load up on young potential sleeper players. I like Pollard(KC), J Bullocks and Roman Harper(NO) and the Carolina WLB is still undecided.

I think you did a fine job, and I think your IDps are pretty solid. Zach Thomas not top ten? Since when. Don't listen, Thomas is a monster.

I think that your TE and WR are your two big problem areas. Stevans as a no.1 is not something I would want to deal with all season. If the hype about Alex Smith getting more involved in the offense is true you could be ok. For WR, I'd be just a little uncomfortable about having DJax as my WR1 though a lot will disagree with me there. Hous is a solid WR2, as is Evans and Clayton, but I would just want a more soild WR1. I'd see about coupling Djax with one of your WR2s or WR3s and see if you can't get yourself an Anquan Boldin or a Randy Moss.
