IF Bonds Came Clean on the Roids (1 Viewer)

I have a question for everyone.

What if Bonds came clean and told the whole story about his use of Steroids and how that MLB not only knew about Steriods but encouraged to have its players take them ( Bonds, McGuire and Sosa and others). Lets face it Baseball was at its lowest point after Bud canceled the postseason. They needed a lot of positive coverage and what better than a lot of homeruns to be hit right after the strike?

Take McGuire for instance he had the Andro outside in his locker for everyone to see. The only time it became a issue was after he had broken the all time season HR record.

Would your feelings of Bonds change? And how many heads would role if this were true.

I believe everyone knows that Bonds used steroids so that to me is a non issue. I just find it odd that the Mitchell investigation, the Feds have not been able to put anything on Bonds. I wonder if they are trying to cover up what the truth really is.

I doubt that there was a conspiracy, but I also doubt that it wasn't known and discussed at even the highest levels.

If Bonds came clean, I would respect him a lot more. Of course, I used to say that about Rose, and then the way he "came clean" was so obnoxious and self-serving that I almost wish he hadn't.

Supposedly, when the Mitchell report comes out, there is more on Bonds than anyone thought until recently. There are also a lot of other names that are going to be mentioned. I personally don't understand why they would let him break the record before they released what they had, but so be it. I guess we'll see soon enough. Anyone hear a date when this could come out?

I think I would respect Bonds more if he came clean, but I really feel like it's too late for him to turn around or go back. He has denied, denied, denied and gone to the point of saying that the record is not tainted in any way. He would look like too much of a hypocrite at this point. The record would become instantly discredited and I think he would lose more respect from people who still have respect for him than the respect he could gain.

He needs to ride this out the way that he has and hope there isn't enough evidence to do anything to him.

I miss Bonds on Bonds...another classic from ESPN!

I dislike Bonds more because he's a jerk than anything else. I didn't cheer him when he was a rookie, I didnt cheer him as he approached 70 and I didnt cheer him on the run up to 755.

I also dont believe that the steroid era started in the mid to late 80s, and that habitual greenie use is atleast in the same neighborhood as steroid use. IMO all sports records since the beginning of record keeping have to be looked at with a grain of salt. You're talking about guys that generally would sacrifice their mother to gain the slightest edge, no matter what the rules say. Thats practically hardwired into nearly all the greats of sports. Be it steroids, spitters, greenies, cork or something else, atheletes are always willing to break the rules if it means they'll play better.
