If Chris Johnson struggles this week against Indy... (1 Viewer)

If he struggles this week against a porous Indy run defense, what do you do?

Indy is 31st in the NFL in rushing yards allowed. They are tied for dead last in rushing TDs allowed. It's week 8 so this is the halfway mark of the fantasy season, including the playoffs.

If CJ3 struggles this week, is he a permanent bench for the rest of the year? If not, why not?

I play in a 2 PPR league, so he really hasn't had any terrible scoring games for me, but has obviously failed to produce to the level I drafted him at

And his schedule is pretty light for the second half of the season

If you make the decision to permanently bench a player, why not just cut him? Permanent benching is an overreaction; let matchups and circumstances guide lineup decisions

So far this season:

C. Johnson, 93 attempts, 268 yards, 2.9 yds/att, long of 25, and 1 TD

J. Ringer, 21 attempts, 62 yards, 3.0 yds/att, long of 25, and 1 TD

J. Harper, 6 attempts, 16 yards, 2.7 yds/att, long of 6, and 0 TD

Hard to say based on that limited sample that Ringer would do any better.

Who knows......

I don't think you would have anyone argue too hard that Ringer would do much better. It does seem that Johnson got his contract and now is disinterested in playing hard.

If he can't produce against Indy there's definitely a problem. Keep in mind we're only 6 games into the season though. I expect the Titans to give Johnson every opportunity for a monster game today.

All this talk of the poor line play, he's lost a step, struggling running game, etc is going to fire these guys up against a cupcake defense.

I expect big things in this game and for the remainder of the season.

The titans have the best pair of tackles in the league in Roos and Stewart. But the interior line has been atrocious. Johnson may have regressed some (how could he not?) but he should be getting at least three yards a carry up the middle due to blocking alone.

He is already just a matchup play you have been stuck playing every week.Indy is one of the get well defenses against the run.He will put up real good numbers today.

I rescind this commentPermanent benching in a highly apppropriate reaction if he is benched by his NFL team

If he cant put up a solid game against Indy, there's no point in playing the matchups. Definitely benching him until he shows me he can turn it around.

And this is why ppr leagues are crap
Yeah...because...because....pass receptions have no value. So there....
So I guess we should play in point per completion and point per carry leagues because... because... they have value too.
So, if a potential reception is bobbled and turned into an interception, does your league award points for that? Or is it just TD only?
