If Golden State is revolutionizing basketball... (1 Viewer)

Phillies didn't win the year they had the incredible staff. I believe the Braves only won one year they had their powerhouse rotation.
In a sport where winning 60 percent of your games makes you a great team, a best-of-7 is kind of a crapshoot.
OK. But I'm not sure you're point here.

The Braves disagree.
They got beat by a team that hit 5 times more home runs than them in the postseason.

So in a small sample size the team that set records for homer runs in a year got shut down by good pitching. Seems like the exact opposite of what you said to do.

I think you’re missing the point that the Phillies had 6 guys with 20+ homers and were 26th in defense. That would be almost exactly my point that I made back in 2015.

Also, **** the Braves.

So because you don't like the Braves it doesn't count lol. You are literally trying to take a victory lap for coming in 9th. Good shtick.

This is honestly so weird. I don’t understand your argument. In my post I said teams should load up on guys that hit a lot of homers and screw defense. The Phillies are the exact team I described. Like exact. And they are blowing away the competition. What don’t you understand?

I now remember why I avoid this place. “Hey everyone, here’s a funny post!”
“Well, ackshully…”

Because the Braves are better at it than the Phillies and it didn't work for them. You don't get to count one and not the other.

Ok. Thanks for fact checking my humorous post with a wild callback. You win the internet today. Congrats.

So you are now mad because you are wrong and I ruined your victory lap? Just so you know the Rockets tried to do the Warriors thing minus the defense and didn't win anything. I am sorry I didn't realize this thread was kindergarten and I ruined your show and tell. Carry on.

When a Super Elite Upper Tier member returns, there's no room real debate :)

The change largely did take place, but baseball will always baseball. Long regular season can easily get overturned in short series postseason. An injury here and there will wildly flip series.

It wasn’t a victory lap - allow some humor in your life.

Both teams fit his narrative and they played each other. It wasn't about who did it "better" it was whether or not it would work. And it did. Just because one team beat the other doesn't take away from that.

In a small sample size anything can happen in baseball. Stats for baseball are based on 162 games. I am sure there were stretches where the Braves played bad for 3 games in a row but nobody cared. Slumps happen all the time. Playoffs are no different.....it just hurts more.

I have read 0 posts of this thread but...are the Dolphins maybe revolutionizing NFL offense?

- Speed over everything
- Use presnap motion almost all the time

Or is it just a case of a super smart accurate QB paired with an all time great WR and great supplemental skill players?

Reminds me of the Philly push. If everyone could do it everyone would. But they don't because they can't.

Perhaps but that's just one play that only comes in play a couple times a game. I wish I had the stat in front of me but I heard it on a podcast and it's pretty telling the few teams using pre-snap motion at the highest rates. They are offenses having a really high degree of success this year. Dolphins are by far the highest.

The Raiders have tried it. You need skill first. Speed alone isn't enough.
