If Stokley misses time... (1 Viewer)

Stokley injury as yet uncertain from what ive read. Just wondering if he were to miss time does Moorehead take his spot?

I really think Dallas Clark would be the slot receiver in place of Stokley. In fact, Clark was the #3 "WR" last year while Stokley was hurt.

Its real quiet here about Stokley.. Moorehead is the best WR left BUT he is not a slot WR.Everyone in town and the Colts want to see Moorehead..lol.. That leaves Wilkins who is junk..My guess would be the 3 te's would share the catches.

 Clark offers thier offense more versitilty as a blocker and schematcly than Stokely in the 3 Wr set. I see big numbers for him in a offense that will rely on the pass much more than they did last year.

Walters is not a Colt anymore.

What exactly is Clark offering here?
Motion before the snap to help Manning get a read on the defensive coverage. Double stacking a side for outside runs to that side. Multiple moving formations/fronts.There was a nice article about the Cowboys reasons for moving to more 2TE sets for this upcoming season.

btw my "i" button on this laptop doesen't always work.

To answer youer question, IMHO, Clark offers 3 dropped passes a game and 1 "big" catch. I'd be happy if he just caught the damn ball more often! He should spend less time trying to help "schematcly" and more time literally! haha

I would agree with this. Also, I think a player to keep an eye on is Ben Utecht. Looks like he might have won the #2 TE position and could benefit from more looks as well.

Honestly all, I see this as an opportunity more for the RB's and starting WR's.

The #3 WR was forgotten last season for the Colts. With Addai coming into the picture, I could see more screens on the outside for both WR and RB.

Just a thought.

I could be very wrong here, but I think Defenses will show less respect to the running game, playing more guys back. This should open the underneath stuff for these screens, etc.

Actualy Dallas Clark caught 71.2% of his targets last year. Almost 3 times better than the 25% your suggesting.

How did you type the"i" button if your "i" doesn't work?

:excited:

I could use some new gear.

The Colts have been using John Standeford in the slot this week. He is out of Purdue and spent last year on the practice squad. No fantasy relavency here just an FYI.

I wasn't trying to suggest that he only had 1 catch per game. I'm just saying he may have 2 basic catches, 2-3 drops, and 1 "big" catch. I have seen far too many times where he lets one hit the turf and then look at his hands in disbelief.

It is obvious that he is not their answer at TE. They have scaled back so much since Marcus Pollard moved on. Some of this has to do with the emergence of Reggie Wayne. But nonetheless, Clark isn't what they brought him in for.

However, your point is well taken.

Thanks for the clarification!
