If you don't like Justin Timberlake (1 Viewer)

Obviously, I'm opening myself up for ridicule here, but true story:In the early part of the 00's, Justin Timberlake was dating Britney Spears and was a member of N'SYNC. I, was in grad school, and was waiting tables at PF Chang's in Memphis. One night, during the Christmas season, Justin Timberlake walks into the restaurant with a girl (some local skank. Obviously not Britney.) I was not a fan of N'SYNC, so I didn't really care, but have a niece who at the time was 9 years old, and was in love with them. Now, I am not famous myself, but I would like to think that I can at least understand what a celebrity is probably thinking when in public. They probably would love it if everyone left them alone. I get that. Had he not walked by me, I wouldn't have said anything at all, but I was standing by the bar cashing out, when he walks by on his way to the bathroom. I very quietly, where only he and I can hear, say "Listen man, I know that you probably don't want to be messed with right now, but I have a 9 year old niece who loves you, and if you could just sign something for her, she would love it." Nothing too major. And definitely not in a "OH MY GOD, EVERYONE LOOK IT'S JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!!!!!" kinda way. His response is better demonstrated visually, but since we're on a message board here, I'll just have to describe it:Imagine a flamboyant gay man (I'm not saying he is gay. Obviously, he has dated some real knockouts and is straight. Not saying that, just imagine a flamboyant gay man) throws up a facepalm 2 inches from your face. Then, makes a disgusted and exasperated noise. Then, walks a semicircle around you (all the while holding up the facepalm) and proceeds to the bathroom. If I wanted his autograph, it would have been one thing, but it was for my niece, which kinda made me a little angry. The guy can dance. He's funny on SNL. But, the one time I was around him, he was a real cocksmoker.
His reaction sucked but you did something which moments earlier you thought would be a bad thing to do.

Apparently you're not aware of the "Joe Buck Sucks" movement. Trolling Joe Buck is actually the best possible way to spend interview time like that. Beats rambling on and on about his movie like the studios wanted him to... or talking about his favorite ballpark food like the host guy wanted to. :P
I got that he was shining Joe Buck on. My comment was no slight on Timberlake, he did the best he could with the situation - Grace, et. al. completely botched it. Not only were the questions inane and insipid, but for some reason Grace had to have his hand on Timberlake's back the entire time - really creepy.

Well, it was a baseball broadcast. It's like they try to make everything boring. Just a day at the 'ol ballpark.

There's a harem of bikini clad hotties directly behind them and Grace wants to talk about peanuts. Timberlake should have told Grace he was taking all those chicks back to his suite to party after the game - and Janine Turner was going to be serving drinks. That or he should have pulled a Namath on Grace - that would have been great t.v.

Tix purchased for July 20 @ Yankee Stadium  Gonna surprise the wife
Dude, you are definitely getting some that night. This reminds me of that male strip club where the dancers are on stage until 11, then the single guys flood into the place to pick up the sausage-craving women.

i would think having sex with JT would get you all kinds of women

"You know hot they say when you have sex with someone you are having sex with everyone they ever had sex with...well I had sex with Justin...."

ain't no woman gonna say no to that

JT is an awesome talent and a cool dude but getting into his music is a bridge too far
I understand that thought but I like his music. I don't buy the cds but I like when his tunes are played. That suit and tie song right now is good about 1-2 times a day. I like tech, pop, as well as the classic rock.

Pretty solid effort last night, no?

ETA:

Got tix to his Memphis show in November. Mrs. Karpis' was getting all tingly just thinking about it last night.

He's a professional. That's always been his best asset. I think his voice is decent to good. But he has good instincts and he puts the work in to deliver the best performance he can. It bodes well for when he moves to his headlining in Vegas stage of his career in a decade or so.

Awesome performance. I saw him in Yankee Stadium in July. You will NOT be disappointed. Also loved NSYNC, stiff and all, trying to dance out there

Simon: I love you.

Melvin: I tell you, buddy...I'd be the luckiest guy alive if that did it for me.

Great performance. 15 minute spot of non-stop dancing and singing (no lip-sync).

The NSync segment was a little uncomfortable though. Was like Kevin Durant playing in a summer open gym run with his high school teammates.

I watched some of the show last night with my daughter. I came away impressed by his dancing but cannot get into his music at all. There is nothing wrong with it just not my style.

I'm not a big JT guy and don't listen to his music or anything, but I have to say that was a really freaking good and impressive performance last night. That guy was all over the place, everywhere. He's a helluva dancer but still manages to actually, you know, sing for real.

Really well done. Despite how much he owned that place last night, he also showed class in accepting the award.

I disagree. I actually thought the NSync part was pretty cool, and they all danced well, and lord knows it gave JT a couple minutes to let others sing while he caught his breath.

Seemed like it went over pretty well. At least one of those dudes did, however, definitely look like a middle-aged dad. Might as well have been a guy at my fantasy draft.

I love his show "My Family Recipe Rocks".

The guy has done a great job managing his career/life with the notable exception of getting married. Selena and a host of others seemed there for the taking if he was still single.

I went to his and JayZ's Baltimore show, best I've ever been to. Very good, highly recommend!
