If you drafted today, who are your top 5 RBs? (1 Viewer)

After some extremely deep thought, my list is now the following..

Bobby Rainey - lightning in a bottle

Mark Ingram - the perfect blend of speed and power

Terrence West - solid in all facets of the game

Darren McFadden - come back year

Matt Asiata - the human bulldozer
and this is why zero rb strategy makes sense nowadays

This is a joke, week 2 and people are already jumping ship. Would love to see what people have gotten Charles for.
In case this wasn't a rhetorical question: I traded Andre Johnson & Jason Witten for Charles just a few days ago.

Of course, the list of RB value plays after last week was almost completely different and those are most likely the guys that the zero RB crowd still had in their lineups this week. Not to mention that within a few weeks it's likely that all of those guys other than Ingram will be completely unstartable.

It's great if you're able to pick the right guy each week and avoid the 1 point let-downs, and you're able to get them off waivers each week, and you start the right one each week. Of course, the same can be said of value WRs and value QBs and value TEs and value kickers and value team defenses.

Lynch, Bell, Murray, Foster, Gio, and possibly Forte and McCoy would disagree with you

The top 10 RB situation is extremely fluid, it's almost worth pinning this thing.

Has anyone done any calculations on the total FF points for RB as a percentage of all FF points for all FF players (QB/RB/WR/TE) this year compared to past years? It really seems like the value of the RB has declined.

good point..the value of TEs has simultaneously skyrocketed

Some notes/stats as I look through the 2 game leaderboard:

  • Cord Patterson has just about as many rushing yards as Matt Forte.
  • Only 1 RB has 3 TDs, Mark bloomin' Ingram. - The NFL rushing TD leader is now hurt.
  • 8 players have 2 TDs - 2 are former Saints, Sproles and Ivory. - 1 is a QB, McCown. - 4 of the 8 are backups. Lynch, Murray and Morris are the other 3 RBs.
  • 4 RBs have 2 runs of 20+ yards, LBell, Rainey, Morris, West.
  • Jordy Nelson has more yards than any RB.
  • 2 RB's have more than 200 yards rushing. 5 WRs have more than 200 yards receiving.
The 5 RBs with the most yards rushing are:

  • Murray
  • Foster
  • Morris
  • LBell
  • West
Somehow looking at all this I've come to the conclusion that Morris is maybe underappreciated right now.

Love that Foster is STILL getting no love.
It's because everyone expects him to go down at some point..with good reason. He's literally the only dude I've ever owned in fantasy football who I cringe every time he gets hit. He'll get no love, regardless of production, unless he finishes the season in one piece.

Foster is a top 3 back right now, putting him outside the top 5 is insane-- what 5 backs would you rather have right now??
Murray

Bell

Forte

Lacy

Gio

McCoy

Lynch

Id trade Foster for any of the above straight up right now. Id also trade him for the Charles/Davis combo.

And you may be correct in doing so. But right now, today, no way in hell can you say Lacy/Forte are better fantasy RBs than foster-- he has more points than them combined-- and Im a lacy owner

Yeah so does Darren Sproles. Would you draft him top 5 today?

The question asked is "If you drafted today, who are your top 5 RBs?" In that scenario, you should be looking forward. Foster just played Washington & Oakland. Lacy just played Seattle & NYJ. Forte had a great game vs BUF and struggled vs a good SF team. Anybody in their right mind would trade Foster straight up for them right now. If you dont believe me offer Lacy for Foster in your league right now.

:lmao: Foster has several years as a top 5. He's THE DEFINITION of a bell cow back. Sproles, come on. Lacy and Forte both will struggle to get the touches. This isn't a concern for Foster unless you throw out the unprovable 'he'll get hurt at some point.' So could any of these guys.

What is the "good reason"? He played in 16 games in 2010, 13 games in 2011, and 16 in 2012. He got hurt last year and played 8 games. All of a sudden he's injury prone?

And why isn't anyone saying that stuff about Murray? He hasn't played a full 16 games yet.

Because people are emotional and stupid and echo the OMG he's old and high miles parroting which caused him to drop to the 3rd round.

All of these foster owners are going to be sad soon. He's already breaking down...nursing rib injury and tweaked his hammy.

He's endured huge workloads in relatively small periods of time and has an extensive injury history dating back to 2005 (college). Look, I have a ton riding on Foster this year but I won't pretend that he isn't high risk player with increased propensity for injury. So is Murray, who has historically gone down like clockwork at around the 250 touch mark. It's the type of #### you have to accept when drafting them.

You see, because I've come to accept the risk I took I'm not terribly surprised today.

Ok. You hold Charles' injury against him? Didn't think so. All RBs get hurt. All of them.

The difference was the top strike against Foster coming into the year was health and workload history.

i didnt even rank charles in my top 7

murray

bell

lynch

gio

mccoy

forte

in some order seems pretty obv. foster and charles are too dinged but if they recover they are right there. ball and lacy look like disappointments

1) Jamaal Charles--old, peaked already, bad offensive line, backed up by someone just as talented.

2) Eddie Lacy--sophomore slump, injury prone, passing offense, heinous offensive line.

3) Arian Foster--worst team in AFC, old, chronically injured, worn out.

4) Montee Ball--talentless RB on a team that discards starting RBs like underwear.

5) Andre Ellington--a "bell cow" back that was used as a, uh, decoy? In the off-season who was proclaimed by the King of Douches Bruce Arians as the back who would shoulder the load against all comers. #### Bruce Arians and #### Andre Ellington.

Edit--I have sobered up, and now I love you all! Including Maurile Tremblay, whose predictions suck.
