Aye yi yi. I'm feeling the same (despite being as old as the OP). I was hoping he was younger because I have coworkers who talk like that all day long (they're 19/20) and it drives me nuts. I've just been keeping in mind that they'll be growing out of it soon.That was my sanity preserving hope :(

You are playing it entirely too cool. Call her up after you read my post, setup a date. If she agrees, ask her if she minds driving. Tell her about the DUI, say it was an extremely stupid thing to do. You guys crack me up. It's a chat. I don't intend to have in-depth and personal conversations through text messaging or chat initially. Plus, I have to somewhat mirror her language because I am older, out of school, and we met in a professional setting. I didn't want to seem so "old" initially. I'm perfectly capable of writing at a higher level. If not, I doubt this thread would last so long.

Call her up, ask her out (alone), a good start is for appetizers and drinks, and be honest why you need her to drive. Stop talking like a young kid, she is into you, in part, because you're the opposite of what she has to deal with on a regular basis.

Going to call her before I go to work today to set something up. My only free time before I leave for HI on Thursday is in the afternoon tomorrow (have DUI class from 2000-2200).

Yes, because it is abnormal for a 20-something to drink when they go out. I guess the other 5 days a week sober mean nothing. I messed up and drove after drinking, got a DUI, and now have to deal with all the penalties. Doing it again is out of the question.

You said you were going to a Happy Hour and then a DUI class. That struck me as odd since, having been through a DUI and the required classes myself, I know they will breathalyze you (or at least they do in VA).Coffee seems like a better move anyway.

So yah. Looks like I overplayed my lack of interest, I wasn't direct enough that I wanted to take her on a date, or she's plays games. Who knows.

First, good job calling her. It's much easier to read a person on the phone than through a text. That phone cleared up where you stand with her.
You're got to start building attraction with a chick and let her know that you like her. That doesn't mean being clingy but if you don't let her know right away that you have 'romantic' intentions with her she's going to put you in the friend category, like this one did.

Understood, but weren't the signs there prior that she had interest? She's been pretty aggressive (Post-It Note, calling me to find out the plan, inviting me to meet at another bar, taking me away to dance with me, texting me after she left) and I did my best to be "alpha". Maybe I blew it by ditching her for my lady friend, but just want to make sure I'm at least reading her signals right. She seemed so aggressive, I thought this was a lock. I guess she's just friendly. Oh well.

You had a shot, but blew it at the bar IMO. I also think you blew it inviting her out for drinks. If you already have a repoire with a woman you need more one on one time. You still potentially have a shot in Vegas because well it's Vegas. Definitely need to be more aggressive IMO if she does the same thing she did at the Bar with you earlier (don't ditch her this time).

I dont like the idea of making plans so far in advance, I think that might have turned her off (assuming you meant Thursday May 11th).
You generally played this whole chick wrong, but you not being able to counter her when she said the bold part doomed you.You could've played it off as if one or two friends will join you (surely I don't need to tell you what to do so that you eventually are alone w/ her?) at this place. You let her know some particular interesting detail about this stupid bar and you insist on checking this place out.... with her and your friends. Anything to get her out and potentially alone w/ her.
Stick to the text game, you aren't fast enough on your feet for the phone game at this point.
