I'm a huge fan of Jordan Peterson (1 Viewer)

Ren. I'm a fan since bops. Your rage vids are legend. But dood. This needs to be schtick or dial it back. Maybe half of what JDP says is challenging and truth and maybe half is misguided.

It's a play on the rick and morty copypasta

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons.  I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. ? And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

"'Burger King,' that name is so bloody complicated. It took me like three months of non-stop thought to figure this out. Well you look at it and you see 'King', well what's that? That's actually an instantiation of a patriarchal mode of being, isn't it? It's like...that's the typification of a fatherly figure that exists at the top of all possible dominance hierarchies, I guess that'd be a good way to describe it.

"But it's not A king per se when you go to Burger King, it's the instantiation of an INDIVIDUAL as necessarily being the embodiment of the transcendent ideal of a King. It's a king AS SUCH! The typified aspect of Kingship-as-such is inexorably tied-up with the word! And what does the typified father-figure DO? Well he provides, doesn't he? He provides food! And shelter! And BURGERS! Well yah, that's bloody well right, a king who provides burgers? Exactly."

lmaoooooooooooo

He caters to a very specific crowd who believe unpopular things and want to feel good and justified about it. He's their idea of an intellectual in the same way that Trump is an ignorant person's idea of a rich guy.

I saw him described on the internet by someone who I don't care to look up right now as "Gwyneth Paltrow but for incels" (it was in reference to his all red meat diet in particular) and it's the most perfect description ever.

wtf peyton.

Can't believe there are people who still don't see through this guy. My earlier posts in here look better and better the more time passes.

If I was a woman, gauging how a dude feels about Jordan Peterson, if he's aware of him, would be an excellent relationship filter.

Which begs the question, should I never, ever, ever admit that I know the name, Jordan Peterson?

Did I use "beg the question" correctly? ... I need to know.

Being aware of him just gives you the opportunity to show you're on the smart side, I guess. To be honest most people probably aren't aware who he is, but if he's on someone's radar then your thoughts on him one way or the other would probably be relevant to that person.

As for the second part...I think so.

Your usage (equivalent to, “raises the question”) has more or less become common and perhaps some would even say acceptable,  but is wrong.

What specifically are you referring to?  "See through" implies he's not genuine but he seems absolutely genuine to me.  And his popularity is increasing as far as I can tell.

I have no idea if he's genuine in terms of if he believes what he's saying, himself. He probably does. But I think it's clear he knows who he's pandering to.

I personally think government or university compulsion of "gender-inclusive" pronouns is overreach. In that limited instance, Peterson has an excellent point.

I think he definitely believes in what he’s saying.  I think there may have been a point earlier on where it was a little bit of a schtick , but I’m pretty sure he is now all in and believes it.
