Especially to a city that will likely never host a Superbowl and where the NFL has a stong fanbase. Buffalo, Green Bay and Denver come to mind.

Most of the fans that join in the booing are from other teams fanbase as well. It's just the "schtick" for Jets fans to boo a pick.
As for booing the #1 pick, it's a Dolphin pick, and a team managed by Parcells. OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO BOO!
The draft will go on the road, but don't be surprised to see it back in NY every other year or so. It's a marketing ploy...and it's a lot easier to get people to want to travel to NYC than to Wisconsin.
All in all it was a great first day of the draft. Lots of trades (14) and some surprise moves with all WR's sliding out of round 1. WOW!!!!
Get ready bright and early tomorrow for Rd. 2 and more booing!
