I'm Benching J. Forsett for ______________________ (1 Viewer)

Karlos Williams in a standard. I doubt Forsett sees my lineup again this year barring injuries and bye weeks. 30 years old and never did anything until last year. We should have seen this coming a mile away.

I have Spiller, Alfred Blue and Charles Sims riding the pine while I start Forsett. The Ravens are going to have to run the ball some and as pitiful as it sounds Forsett is second on the team in receptions and add to that the #3 guy in receptions, Gilmore, is out.

Unless he gets hurt Forsett is going to have plenty of opportunities to do something so I'm giving him a hat this week.

The volume is there, but none of the three backs have been effective. Does that point to o-line issues? Not sure, the only game I saw extensively was the Oakland game when they were behind virtually the whole time. Saw them on the RZ a lot last weekend but that was mostly the AJG/SSS highlight show.

I'm actually contemplating Spiller as well. While he hasn't done anything, Brees should be back and Payton wants to get his $16M man more involved now that he's healthy.

Yeah I think the o-line has significant issues and the starting LT Eugene Monroe is out again tonight.

The Steelers defense has been better than expected but they are still unproven and Ryan Shazier is out.

Forsett is starting for me too. My other options are simply not any better. It is prayer time.

Debating starting him. I can drop him for Blue or start Gurley. I don't think Gurley will get the touches, so I'm leaning heavily to get Blue. But Forsett has some good matchups over the next few weeks after Pitt. I'd like to see him get it started this week and redeem himself, but I feel like I'm asking too much right now.

Another one choosing Karlos Williams over Forsett. I'm holding onto Forsett b/c he's still a 3-down back in a competent offense, but I would be thrilled to see him put up a big # on my bench than another 'dud' in my lineup.

Sitting him for Gordon or Marvin Jones. Depending on whether he was the starter or the flex (16 team league )

The O line looks so much better tonight.

Looks like a decent season is in the works after all.

Shades of Lacy last year.

I think he got 1 target. But not like any other RBs were hoarding the RB targets either. The good news is that Baltimore won by using him as a workhorse. They'll be more likely to try and repeat that, though would like receptions in sacrifice of about 5 or 7 carries.

I think you'll see Trestmann start to reveal the rb pass plays once this team establishes the run.

They needed to get something going to build off, and they did that tonight.

Nice night running the ball, but I can't believe that he isn't getting any passes.
Agreed. Not one catch, not really getting it considering they have Steve Smith and a bunch of garbage after that.
Forsett spent a lot of time helping in pass protection, since the Steeler have a pretty good pass rush.

But it would help the Ravens offense a lot if they just dump the ball to Forsett 2-4 times a game.

But I am not going to complain with 150 yards and that type of workload.

This is why I drafted him. I expected the receptions to jump this year. I thought Trestman would guarantee Forsett to see at least 5 targets per game.

He's seen 7, 4, and 7 before last night's 1. Only caught 4 in each game tho and only got 13,12 and 16 yards, so not very Forte-ish. Not sure if I want my 30 year old 5 foot 8 bellcow rushing 27 times every game.

Many of those targets were just Flacco throwing passes in the dirt in his direction to avoid sacks. Of course as a Forsett owner, I'm watching for these potential dump-offs, but it seems that Flacco hasn't even looked his way on several times that Forsett was open, opting for a pass to a TE instead or even the closest WR.

Of course I brain farted on the Thursday night game and didn't get him into my lineup on time.

Now counting on Abdullah at RB2. :wall:

yes I started him and I was pleased with the way he rushed ball. Balt needs to wise up when they are getting blitzed non stop and throw a swing, screen or wheel route which are all specialties of forsett instead of throwing balls in the dirt and taking sacks because he is holding on to the ball to long or the line can't block... It was annoying that a 60 catch back that was supposed to be in a more rb catch friendly offense as we seen FORTE set record for catches 102, didn't even really get targeted or used in the passing game. I did see him in the slot a few times but they totally ignored him. He would be perfect to play some in the slot for easy dump offs, cross middle passes, swings, screens, wheel or any other pass you can imagine.

I don't get it at all. He turned Forte into a receiver and he is making Forsett almost non existent in the passing game, when in reality he is a very good wr. It is actually his strongsuit so it makes no sense to use him esp with the way Flacco has been getting hit out there.

In the offseason, Trestman was quoted as saying that he wasn't going to come in an overhaul an offense that performed well last year. It's like he's purposely avoiding screen plays so he can stand by his word.
