I'm sitting Gronk/Hernandez in favor of... (1 Viewer)

I am sitting Hernandez in favor of Brandon Jacobs. I have Gronk and Hernandez. I don't want to start 2 players from the same team against a good Jets Pass Def.

Not gonna do it. They could lay eggs this week and the Jets are about the best candidates on the schedule to do it, so I understand the apprehension.

They're studs and with Welker likely vacationing on Revis Island they're liable to go off. Starting both at flex with confidence. Live by the sword and die by it.

Gonna roll w/ Fred Davis @ FLEX, benching Hernandez (no mandatory TE in this league). Grossman sucks, but at least he throws it more than 5 yds past LOS. I just don't see Pats offense doing much tonight; they look very ordinary from a fantasy perspective

I haver both Gronk & Hernandez, starting Gronk. Gronk had the flu during the last Jets game & almost sat out. He'll be the guy today.

The Jets have only allowed 5 passing TDs on the season and only 1 TD to a TE - Gates. In the previous meeting Gronk and Hernandez were both held under 10 pts in my 0.5 PPR league. Plus Brady has looked pretty un-Brady-like the last few weeks. I'm strongly leaning towards starting Fred Davis.
I hope this BS call was for some Yahoo or other free league......you would never find an experienced owner doing this in a $$ league

in my 10 years or so here this is the dumbest post ive ever read...it must be nominated for worst post of all times...who in the right mind would ever even consider sitting the BEAST GRONK? The guy is the best TE in the game bar none and may be the best receiver of the ball among ALL players before long. He can't be covered by anyone and like a power forward in basketball he will box you out and make the catch making him uncover-able by one person( even Revis has been on him tonight some and cant cover him because he just gets bodied out of position when ball is in air) he is a giant who can really move with vice like hands...sit him?? Ummmmmm NO...i just hope the owners who use own him and are playing against me think like you !whats he is doing for me tonight in FPC leagues im in is EPIC. Shame hell be a third round pick in most every draft next year and in FPC leagues(TE's = 1.5 ppr) likely late first early second round pick in some drafts.

Yeah, I don't know why I sat Gronk for Marshall and Graham. Hating myself right now. Should have followed gut instead of rankings.

That's a lot of meaningless and fairly meanspirited bluster, guy -- Mardukas outlined a thoughtful, analytical approach to his reasons why expectations for Gronk and Hernandez may be lower. Sure, the approach was wrong, and I would argue that NE has too many receiving weapons for even the Jets to take away all of them, and with their strength at the corners, I would counter-argue that I'd expect the TEs, guys like Faulk/Woodhead catching dumps and screens, or even WR 2/3s like Ocho and Branch to be able to get single coverage with overload protection drawing the Jets attention to one side. That's why I never thought of benching Gronk tonight. But I benefit from retrospect, as you do. Mardukas was wrong, which someone is allowed to be.To beat your chest and throw out insults like this is childish. Just simply say "never bench your studs" and move on.

NO. OP deserves a bit of brow beating if you ask me. To make a post like this like it actually had any meaning what so ever deserves ridicule. I could see if he just listed Hernandez...but to add Gronkowski he deserves whatever he gets and then some. Rookie hazing you could call it! LOL...well i sure hope he is a rookie! Now i could start in on you for talking to me like that and normally i would but your not worth my time and im having to good a time tonight racking up unbelievable amounts of points in some high stakes leagues tonight I started Brady, Gronk, Branch Gostkowski and Pats D tonight, so even guys like you your post cant bother me or make me do anything but LOL. So here is to you and the OP....LMAO! ;)

I ended up playing Gronk and Brady, but I admit I didn't expect much. Gronk hadn't ever scored a TD against the Jets before and he goes off. But that is why they play the game.

What a weird week. I got lucky.

Good natured smack talk is pretty much what FF was created for. Sophomoric bombast, not so much.

I can't believe a forum called The Shark Pool still features regular threads on Should I Bench My Stud? Unbelievable.

lmao at sitting him for marshall
Yeah, my bad. I wish you were there to laugh at me when I posted the first time so I could have at least one person telling me Gronk was the obvious play. Still don't see why everyone ranked Marshall so highly. Oh well, guess I'm starting 2 TEs for the rest of the year.

Without Welker being on Revis Island, he's the number one read. Everyone else is number 2 at best depending on the matchup.Edit to add that Gronk is probably the number one Red Zone read target.

Wow, what a d-bag. Are you 12 years old?For the record, I don't have Gronk, only Hernandez. I did end up starting Hernandez and he got me a whopping 6 points.

Ended the daytime games trailing my opponent who had each of his players finish already by 31 points.

First, I accepted defeat.

Next, I was very optimistic.

Then, they over-ruled the second TD.

Then, Gronk caught another one.

Depressed again, when it looked like I would fall 2 points shy.

Finally, elated when Brady hit Gronk for that last 17 yarder to put me over the top and win by just over 1 point!

Gronk is a play at all times barring bye week. Brady loves this guy, he's usually open and if he isn't he big enough to just take out anyone defending him. He's like a man child, some times it looks like he has no clue what's he doing but he'll just throw people aside like lincoln logs. Just watching him play, you know he'll get his every game even against the best defenses. His only enemy is Brady.
