I'm starting Percy Harvin over.... (1 Viewer)

Still haven't decided between Harvin and Douglas as my WR3.

Won't make the final decision until right before today's first kickoff.
My exact same dilemna.

On one hand, I don't want to miss out on a Harvin blow up against his ex team. But if Douglas goes off and I lose because of it, I'll be kicking myself. I can't afford to lose any more games.

Oh well, guess I'll jump off that bridge when I get to it... In about 28 minutes.
Same here. IMO Douglas is the right decision. Harvin the more exciting one. I'm going with the latter but would be less than surprised if Douglas out performs.
Yeah, went with Harvin. Vikings D is awfull. He could have two catches and still go over 100 and a TD. Douglass doesn't have that type of explosivness.

glta!
Yeah, because that's just what I do.
Fitzgerald

T. Smith

Douglas

All benched for Harvin this week. The only one I would have is smith, because of the weather. He isn't having an amazing game, but has a TD so far at least

With all the question marks and the snap count... With the confidence some, people had in starting Harvin, you'd think he was better than Calvin Johnson.... Not just an athletic WR on a brand new team with a brand new coach/QB, just coming off of a rather serious surgery

a little late with that analysis.

Intercourse it,starting Harvin over Stills since I have a sizeable lead and it's risky. Much like to pull-out method. Good luck fellas!

Have you read the previous two pages of this thread, or just that one post???I've been overly insistent of benching Harvin. Almost to the point of annoyance I'm sure.

All the reasons I gave above, and others, I gave this morning to people to sit him.

He could still go nuts and prove me wrong, but unless you're starting a low WE3/WR4 over Harvin, you should sit him

Still can't decide between Harvin and Vereen in my flex. I have Vereen in as of now.
Vereen easily. I'm stressing over Stills over Harvin. Would love to have Vereen instead.
Vereen in PPR. He's not coming back from a lower extremity injury.

I'd sit both, but if you had to choose, vereen
Yeah, I am sitting here with McFadden out, Foster out, Stacy on a bye... Gio and Andre Brown are already starting RB's... Torrey Smith and VJax starting WR.... flex is the position that I am struggling with. It's a tough call for me because we don't run anymore waivers this week and there is no open waivers in the league... ever. So... if Vereen doesn't play, I'm screwed.

Everything I've read is he is playing, but I see how it's risky. Good luck with whatever you decide!

No appearances during first possession.
he started and was blocking on the opening play
I didn't see that at all. I saw Baldwin and Tate on the field.

Two targets so far. First was on a deep ball. Interference was nullified by a holding call. However, Harvin didn't play the ball well in the air. Stopped running and turned around. Ball was well over his head. Second target was a fantastic juggling reception that he tipped to himself, a very nice catch.

He just returned a kickoff before halftime for about 60 yards. Kearse has been doing it, but is out with a concussion.

If Harvin is returning kicks then that completely changes the game. Looks like those who started him are in decent shape, provided return yards count. Offensively he doesn't look like he's been getting his "revenge" that people were talking about

He's getting ready to return second half kickoff, but the pooched it short to the up man to keep it away from Harvin.

What did people honestly expect from him, fresh off recovery from hip surgery on a brand new team? Especially on a reported/expected low snap count?

50 yards?

60 yards?

80 yards.

A TD?

Aren't those stats what you could have almost guaranteed to expect from a lot of players who were benched for Harvin this week?

Ironic... Harvin was out in by many for his "big play potential" yet those named in this thread who were benched actually showed up with the big plays.

Yea I'm pretty sick to my stomach. Starting Harvin in 1 league will end up costing me the playoffs. No one to blame but this guy! Oh and mortensen too. Thx ##### for convincing me they wanted to get Harvin involved. Puke.

So for anyone that watched the full game. How has he looked? I see the one catch, but how many times was he targeted? Was the speed there? Id have to think that if his body responds well to this game they will begin to work him into the gameplan over the bye.

Plenty of warning in this thread that you chose to ignore.

I expected a TD and 20-30 yards or so. I wasn't expecting a TD from Fitz. Oh well.

I thought 3-4 catches, 40-50 yards would be his floor. 6-8 points or so in PPR. Given the matchup, I thought that was a very realistic projection. Didn't happen and it sucks. Oh well, you roll the dice it doesn't always work out. Good news is he looked really good so coming out of the bye he still has every chance to make the type of impact many of us anticipated.

I agree, I wonder how many snaps he played.

I also agree with pack- looking forward Harvin owners should be able to start with confidence. Especially if he is returning kicks.

Over/under how many weeks straight he plays before another injury/migraine sits him down : 5

1 catch for 17 yds and you think hes a start with confidence?

They threw to him 3 times that I counted at least. Might have been more. 3 targets on what I assume was about 12-15 plays. Extrapolate that over 60 plays

Furthermore, if he is returning kicks those points are huge

And finally, my biggest critique of why I was down on him this week was because he hadn't really practiced with this QB at all and he didn't have a full week of full practice. He has off next week, so he has two more weeks to get in synch with his QB. I am much more excited about his prospects week 13 than I was today.

Maybe next time you'll listen to me :)
Why? Because your prediction came true and you obnoxiously patted youself on the back about it? Or are you Nastrodamus and actually know everything? If it's the latter, then by all means, keep the sure things coming.

The Seahawks have two weeks to prepare for their biggest game of the season in Week 13 against New Orleans. I don't think it's a stretch to believe they'll use Harvin a lot more than they did yesterday. They may need to in order to outscore Brees.

Yeah, Mort really sold it didn't he? He came off like a guy that just had to say it out loud to convince himself he believed in what he was saying.
