Impact of T.O. leaving the Eagles (1 Viewer)

Again, running backs are MUCH different than QBs. A "stud" RB is one you can draft in the first round year after year. A "stud" QB is one that you will spend an early draft pick on.In a 12 team league, the 6th QB is the AVERAGE quarterback for your league.Average and stud don't go well together.
Again? You said that a stud was:
don't agree. There's just too much clumping around that spot...studs are players who stand out among the rest by a good margin, IMO.
Now you say it's someone you can spend an early draft pick on. I wouldn't spend an early draft pick on Manning, yet that doesn't mean he's not a stud. You're confusing the issues here. Where a player is drafted doesn't make him a stud.Beside, now you're assuming league size, scoring and starting lineup requirements in your definition of stud. What if it's a start 2 QB league? Your definition of stud should remain constant.

Your definition of stud should remain constant.
No, it shouldn't.Stud in terms of overall NFL will remain constant.Stud in terms of FF is ALL relative to your league. If a player is a stud in the NFL, but an average performer in your league (as McNabb is), then he's NOT a FF stud.If you're saying an average player is a stud, that's your definition, and that's fine.

Please list all the QBs from 2000-2003 you would consider a "stud."

Here I'll start the list for you:

1. Culpepper

2. Manning
And you finished the list.Anything but those two, there's a huge group within about 1-2 PPG of each other...so I'd be waiting on a QB.
2 PPG is a significant difference to me between starters.2000-2003 PPG for QBs:

1) Daunte 23.48

2) Garcia 21.39

3) Manning 20.78

4) Gannon 20.41

5) McNabb 20.23

6) Brooks 18.82

7) McNair 18.59

8) Green 18.47

9) Favre 17.88

So McNabb was only .5 PPG behind Manning, but he's no Stud? I see where my tier lines would be drawn.

In my QB thread I have McNabb graded out behind about 15-17 other QBs...I really think the lack of weapons will hurt Philly and they will struggle to win 6 games this season. They are in a very tough division.
:lmao: :lmao: 15-17 Please send me a link no way he finishes 15-17 at least if he is not injured. You must have him being injured because no way he is the bottom half of the QB's even with a departed Owens if he plays all 16 games

Another game of healthy McNabb, another studly performance:

350 yds, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

31 rushing yards

(Should have had 3 TDs if it weren't for a prefect pass in the end zone dropped by Schobel)

After two games:

664 yds, 5 TDs, 1 INT...

Another game of healthy McNabb, another studly performance:

296 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

(should have had 3 TDs again - another perfect pass in the end zone dropped, this time by Reggie Brown)

After 3 games:

960 yards, 7 TDs, 1 INT...

(compare to 2004 after 3 games with TO - 931 yards, 8 TDs, 0 INTs)

(compare to 2005 after 3 games with TO - 964 yards, 8 TDs, 2 INTs)

Time for my weekly bump...

Another game of healthy McNabb, another studly performance:

288 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

47 rushing yards, 2 TDs

After 4 games:

1,248 yards, 9 TDs, 1 INT

86 rushing yards, 2 TDs, 1 fumble

Per FBG scoring, QB1...by a 27 point margin...

No doubt McNabb has looked great so far, but he's faced:

HOU (#32 against the pass)

NYG (18th)

SF (25th)

GB (31st)

McNabb is done with the easy part of his schedule. He may very well do well going forward, but he's only got one more cupcake game left (vs TEN Week 11).

Sun 10/8 Dallas 4:15 pm

Sun 10/15 at New Orleans 1:00 pm

Sun 10/22 at Tampa Bay 1:00 pm

Sun 10/29 Jacksonville 1:00 pm

Sun 11/12 Washington 1:00 pm

Sun 11/19 Tennessee 1:00 pm

Sun 11/26 at Indianapolis 1:00 pm

Mon 12/4 Carolina 8:30 pm

Sun 12/10 at Washington 1:00 pm

Sun 12/17 at NY Giants 1:00 pm

Mon 12/25 at Dallas 5:00 pm

Sun 12/31 Atlanta 1:00 pm

Do you REALLY believes this matters? It never has before. And the point of this thread was how will the loss of Owens impact him. Answer, it hasn't. I stand by my premise that a healthy McNabb = fantasy stud.

Does a stronger defense matter? I think so, but it certainly is not absolute.

Look at McNabb's numbers against some of the better defenses in recent years . . .

2005

DAL 131-0-0 and 169-0-1

2004

CAR 209-0-1

BAL 219-1-0

PIT 109-0-1

2003

TB 148-0-1

NE 186-0-2

CAR 182-1-1

MIA 236-0-1

2002

TB 127-1-1

CHI 209-0-1

Again, I'm not saying McNabb is going to bomb from here on out, but I have a tough time thinking he will get 4 TDs against some of the teams left on the schedule.

Weekly healthy McNabb = fantasy stud (no-TO-needed) update:

354 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

1 rushing yard, 1 TD

After 5 games:

1,602 yards, 11 TDs, 1 INT

87 rushing yards, 3 TDs, 2 fumbles

Wasn't Dallas supposed to be a "quality defense"?

and that is without maybe his best WR last two weeks & without westbrook last week...

through almost 1/3 of season, that projects to MVP numbers if he can keep up this torrid, blistering clip...

McNabb had his worst game of the season so far yesterday...still a stud? Yes, I think so.

247 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INTs

Of course, that INT was a garbage INT on a hail mary to end the 1st half...

After 6 games:

1,849 yards, 13 TDs, 2 INT

87 rushing yards, 3 TDs, 2 fumbles

(best of his career after 6 games - better than 04 and 05 with Owens)

Average game:

308 passing yards, 2.2 TDs, 0.3 INTs

14.5 rushing yards, 0.5 TDs, 0.3 fumbles

Prorated over full season to:

4,928 passing yards, 35 TDs, 5 INTs

232 rushing yards, 8 TDs, 5 fumbles

Is there ANYONE still out there that thinks he needs Owens?

247, 2 TDs, 1 INT, I'll take that as a 'bad' game from my QB .No one expects him to keep up the 300 yard, 4 TD games. No QB can do that. That being said, days like this past Sunday will help you win many more times than help you lose.

Tale of 2 halves this week - a bad 3 INT 1st half and an amazing 3 TD 2nd half.

302 yards, 3 TDs, 3 INTs and tack on 76 rushing yards.

After 7 games of no TO (and no Stallworth for the most part):

2,151 yards, 16 TDs, 5 INT

163 rushing yards, 3 TDs, 2 fumbles

So once again, a healthy (albeit sometimes puking) McNabb proves himself to be a fantasy stud...
