You guys are crazy Mcnabbs wr's are HORRIBLE!!!! He has always had bad wr's but because he could buy so much time with his legs they would eventuallly come open. Now he's more like the traditional drop back passer and it's exposing the Eagles lack of wr talent!

Ive already seen mcnabb miss an open WR a few times already, not sure how that is the wr fault? Mcnabb looks horrible, he tries to throw every pass 100 mph.

I second this. How can you blame the WR's for this sorry excuse for an NFL QB performance. On Monday Night Football no less...He's been boo'd more times than he's completed passes!

Who cares if it is the WR or McNabb? The result is the same. From a FF standpoint McNabb isn't getting it done so far this year.

In the past, McNabb has always been able to make up for no WR by running. If he can't run and doesn't have any WR to throw to the result is bad.

I've always liked McNabb and would like to see him turn it around but they need someone that can get open and catch the ball.

He had one great WR.....and he could not get along with him. Mcnabb deserves this. He has only himself to blame here.

damn curtis on that last play with a minute left, if he wasnt so wide open mcnabb would have hit him for a TD.

Thank you very much Mcnabb for being horrible tonight. I had Portis + Akers going for me tonight and my opponent had Westy + MCnabb. I was only up by 10 before tonight. Thanks to Mcnabb, I won by 3 points or so

his best days are behind him. He's ALWAYS had bad wr's , in fact, everyone not named T.O.!!he's a fantasy BUST this season.Kolb in '08!

He doesn't look a whole lot worse than Palmer looked a year back from his injury. He's going to get better every week so we should be looking at his floor now.

McNabb couldn't get along with T.O.? Please. T.O. realized after the first year in Philly that he made a boneheaded mistake with his contract. Everything after that was diagrammed by Rosenhaus. As for McNabb, I was encouraged by what I saw in the 4th quarter.

Yeah 2 weeks in a row.. PHI passing game looks horrible. I have 2 of their damn WRs too on a limited 4-man WR roster. I'm probably going to drop one or both for WW if I see anyone worthwhile. McNabb just can't get it done without his pre-injury running ability. Westbrook is the star of this team and looks like the only one who has fantasy value.

Im giving DMcNabb a break. I didn't expect him to com eout the gates big. I figured it'd be more mid-late season. No one can deny his ability, Yes, maybe he's not quite as mobile, but he's still a top QB. He's just getting acustomed

:kicksrock: The play calling sucked, too. When Philly got close to scoring, they'd pass on first down, then run right up the gut for no gain on second, incomplete on third, kick FG. I have no idea why they wouldn't throw into the end zone, either. Everything is underneath, even at the opponent's 10 YL. McNabb sucks and whoever has him is done for the year.

Noticed that too - I assume they hit underneath since the WRs weren't getting open on the deep routes - WRs disapointed me more than McNabb tonight - Brown and Curtis were awful - See McNabb doing much better vs Det next week - giving him another start.

My personal favorite was when Fat-Andy tried "Icing" Suisham on a 33 yarder at the end of the half...Gibbs promptly said "Take that!" and scored a TD.

Priceless, just priceless.

McNabb was missing those guys be as much as ten yards on occasion, as well as put his WR's in harms way by leading them into defenders....McNabb had an easy TD to Curtis that he missed by 15 feet. The guy looked like he didn't even want to be there. He's done - mentally and physically. It's a shame, too, because the Eagles have a good D and could have made some noise in a weak NFC. I'd switch to Kolb immediately and tell McNabb not to come to practice until they can trade him. No need to waste time on this deal, get it done and move on....but you just know it'll be a slow bleed for the Eagles as Donovan deteriotates on a weekly basis and they still play him for the next three years, as the whole team around him crumbles.

Seriously, are most of you morons forgetting he's coming off a blown knee? I don't think you could expect much more out of the gate from him. It's not like he's even Dan Marino back there.

That is exactly what I was seeing. McNabb was absolutely horrible, I guarantee Fat Andy Reid could stand still 20 yards from McNabb and he would miss him 50 % of the time. I use that anology because my gawd Andy Reid is fat.

How good do people think the Washington secondary is? I personally think it might be the most talented group in the NFL. I am willing to wait another week to see how McNabb looks against the Lions before starting to make any sort of judgement. I think McNabb will be a solid play in week 3.

They are average at the corners (Rogers is horrid), but the safeties may be the best in the league. LBs look damn good too. DL probably among the worst. You all are nuts about McNabb. Play after play Jaworski showed the WRs with no separation at all. And the pass to Curtis late in the game, he did exactly what QBs are told to do. Throw it at the pylon. He hit the damn thing. Curtis either came out of the break too late or McNabb was forced to throw early. You don't have the time or the vision as a QB to throw that pass to the player. You throw it to a spot.Either way, the Eagles look terrible.

2008 may be his last year. I think in 2009 his salary escalates.

That's what I thought as well. Looked to me like Curtis did not break corrrectly. In the post-game, McNabb just took the blame for that, but not enthusiastically. He looked awful in the first half, but seemed to pick it up in the second. I'm giving him one more week. Kolb will be the most popular player in Philly....until he plays a down or two.

:hifive: - give McNabb another week - should be a shootout in Detroit!

I have McNabb and am 2-0. Do not be so quick to make such comments.

I think McNabb missed his receivers, more than they weren't getting open. He had major problems with his accuracy last night. I think he will get it together, but I don't blame his receivers for his lackluster performance last night.

Not to mention I was also impressed with Wash defense tonight - those two safetys are going to be the best pair in the league.

If McNabb lays an egg against Detroit I will be concerned.

:coffee: How many dropped passes were there as well? I feel sorry for the guy. Their best WR lines up in the backfield! :lmao:

How many times did he miss his receivers when they were open last night? A lot.

Seriously, even if they were wide open I don't think it would have made much of a difference last night, McNabb was just off.

IMO he looks rusty. The precision isn't there - he hasn't really had a full offseason; his time has been spent re-habbing. One would hope that things get better - I only hope that the Philly fans have enough patience and/or McNabb has enough guts to ignore them until he can turn things around.

McNabb will get better as the season goes on. He was off a bit last night, but the WRs sure didn't help and neither did the play calling. But McNabb has to play better, and he should as he gets healthier. Might be a nice buy low right now.

I really would like to see more of Avant. He seems to have a knack for getting open, and that is more than I can say right now for Brown and Curtis.

I was targeting McNabb if he dropped to the5th or 6th round in my leagues. Luckily, other owners jumped on him before my pick and I got stuck with Randy Moss.

It is very apparent that he isn’t 100% right now. He was missing easy passes and looks hesitant in the pocket. Being an Eagles fan, I hope this changes but he needs to shake off the rust. My advice to McNabb owners is to sit him until he shows that he back to his former form.

Ahh the race crutch. He has all the physical tools necessary, apparently he needs to get tougher mentally if he wants to be more successful. What I mean is if you have to make excuses your lacking in confidence. Brett Favre can stink up the place with the best of them but I have never heard him make any excuses for his poor play. He excepts resposibility and moves on.

Reid has really got to try to run the ball more. McNabb is clearly having some issues getting back into the groove and treating him like he was never hurt is a huge mistake. McNabb is already under public fire (to be fair, McNabbs big fat Chunky Soup mouth didn't help that situation) and forcing him under the spotlight is going to create an even more paranoid and insecure quarterback. That defense isn't the same as it used to be either. Andy Reid is maddening. He is as conservative as they come, but he's not conservative enough to just shove the ball down someone's throat. If Reid would actually commit to the run and actually got himself a true workhorse every down kind of power back, the Iggles would have a couple of rings already. A pass happy system that deemphasizes the run the way the Iggles do it just doesn't work. And I think it will never ever work in terms of winning a ring. Even the traditional West Coast Offense doesn't minimize the importance of rushing the football to the degree that Reid does it. Reid needs to buy McNabb some time to get back into the groove of things. He can do that by running the ball.
What's with the "Iggles" shtick?
