in the Last 3 weeks, the #1 DB in Tackle Heavy Leagues has been.. (1 Viewer)

I did a little searching in my WW and I found that Ronald Bartell (CB STL) was the #1 DB for the last 3 weeks. In the Last 3 weeks hes racked up 21 solos / 1 FF / 2 FR / 1 INT. I see he plays GB this week and then Pitt in week 16 which is the SB for many leagues.

Week 15 Match up vs GB: At first, I got excited since GB is a top 10 pts allowed to CB this year... however, since Ryan Grant has taken off and I did the #s allowed to CBs from week 12 too 14, they haven't been feeding the CBs as much and were #24. This spelled a Terrible Match up for Bartell. But then I noticed that the Rams Run D has stiffed up in the past 3 weeks (#20 pts allowed to RBs) while the Passed has been terrible, #7 pts allowed to WRs. IMO, I believe this makes Bartell a very Decent Start off the WW since GB should take advantage of the Rams horrible Pass D.

Week 16 Match up vs GB: All you need to know is that Pitt has been total feeding the CBs in the past 3 week, #4 pts allowed to CB in tackle heavey format. Making Bartell FF gold in SB week.

What can can you guys tell me about him, I see he was mid 2nd some yrs ago...

Thanks

jene or norton ...

what do you know about this guy? he isn't ranked in the top 188 DB's this week. it seems like no one knows anything about him. were his last 3 weeks a fluke?

Bartell is #71 this week (5 solos, 1 PD), within 1.5 (one solo or PD) of the top 35. We discussed Bartell on the podcast last night and I agree that he's a solid play this week. Favre moves the ball around, but each corner should still see enough opportunity to have value.

Bartell is a big guy (6'1", 205) who's probably better in press coverage. His ball skills have reportedly been improving and it's helped that the team put him back at corner and let him grow a little after moving him to FS in training camp briefly last year. It appears that they still like Fakhir Brown a little better -- Brown bumped Bartell from the lineup after Brown's suspension ended -- so it's hard to say what Bartell's future may be. Both are signed through next season.

They are paying Fakhir Brown like a rock star ... he is performing reasonably well and will stay in the lineup.I think they like Bartell as a nickel back who is starting sue to the injury to Hill ...
