In this thread I rank my favorite Beatles songs: 204-1. (3 Viewers)

Speaking of this, I posted on FB today that this was coming, and now my real-life friends are asking me how it came about.  I don’t even know where to start!   :lmao:   I think only one of them knows this place exists.

Just post a link to this thread  :lmao:
or...

Send'em krista4 - From The Internet's Clan

...splains it all.

By the way, I wanted to go ahead and break the news to you that Across The Universe didn’t make the cut.   :(   Since they play the song, I was concerned they might use the Spector version.

Feel free to speculate wildly on which four did make it.  Hint:  three were from my top 10.
<unfriended> 😧

Seriously, no problemo!

This way, when I start my run up to the Abbey Road On The River adventure, I won't be  :deadhorse:   when I go all goooey over Across The Universe.

I'll be sappy'in it up enough for both a us, by that point.

Also, you made this happen. I know how you feels bout this song - you made the right editorial choice, I'm sure. 👍

<re-friended> 😁

Just post a link to this thread  :lmao:
I forgot to mention that I would prefer to keep my friends.
Uh oh.

I was just thinking of this because I realized I needed to come up with a cover story or at least some vague way to describe why I'm on there.  And then I realized...

I talk about this whole endeavor in my intro to Song 1.  And to Song 4.

Holy ####.  Now I am scrambling for a new script for IRL friends.  "You know how I used to play so much fantasy football?  Oh...you don't?  Well let me back up a little more.  You might wanna grab another glass of wine."

And even beyond that, unless I flat-out refuse to tell dear friends where to find this countdown, they could show up here.

:lmao:   I might be the dumbest person on Earth.  Time to change my name and move (naturally).

I talk to my friends/family about this place like it's the most normal thing on earth.   I love it when I tell people in my office that I have received business from this site. They are all like WTF and I just laugh.

That's all well and good but my Mom could be here.

Actually, my mom would be cool other than the part where I talked about her getting her purse stolen.  But if any of my stepmother's family comes here I'm going to have to scrupulously delete every curse word I've "uttered."  I realize no one reads my posts, so here's a hint:  there are a few.

Ah, I'm exaggerating that part for effect.  They'd never come here.  Since I moved away at 17 and never lived there again, they just mostly think of me as that sweet, shy, angelic* kid I was growing up, and I've not tried to disabuse them of that notion because they're very nice people.

ETA:  *I'm still sweet.

🤣 Told ya you were a sap! 😘

Now, this story bout crossing lives and multiple scripts takes me back to my freshman year in college. This is gonna be a story that is close to the edge that I would typically post, but what the heck.

K, if ya want me to hide it after the Clan has read it, let me know - I swipe it clean.

So, middle of the 2nd semester - freshman year - of college at the University of Kentucky, it became OBVIOUS that I was gonna flunk out. I had been partying way too much, and I had entered into my first true mania - real break from reality.

Thus, my doc wrote a note that explained my need to leave past the typically allowed "drop date". Thus, I could go home, get treated and get "Withdraws" on my report card rather than "F"'s. No problem.

Well, the day I decided to drive to Lexington to collect all of my stuff from the frat house, I came across a friend just walking down the road. I picked him up. He had a sheet of blotter acid. We did some.

By the time we reached the frat house - we were frying intensely. All my frat bros came out and wanted to hear the scoop. No problem - right?

Wrong!

I had told my frat buddies earlier that my parents had found my pot pipe and decided to pull me from school.

I had told my Louisville friends, that I had issues with the fraternity and their lifestyle.

The truth was - I was a maniac that could not find reality if it slapped me in the face and said, "So glad you made it!"

And now, I was in the middle of frat bros - a Louisville friend - the truth - a head full of Lucy's Sky Diamonds - and they all wanted the scoop.

OH LOOKOUT!

What a trip....

Eesh, I hear them all the time.  You can check out the channel's schedule here.  Looks like the next one is at 3 pm EDT today and then another at 10 pm EDT.
I heard one at 6 pm EDT a couple days ago. He was the some writer or producer for the Big Bang Theory. I would say you were in good company, but I hate that show (I only know this because my wife loves it, please don't judge her harshly).

So all,

I was clean'in out my PM's tonight. I came across one between K and I - from Aug '17.

My initial thought - HARD DELETE! No one ever reads anything she posts anyways - so why keep it?

Being overly obsessive, I accidentally read it.  Yeah - I know - SMH.

And...look at what I found:

K speak'in - Aug '17

...On my four-hour-ish drive back from Mt St Helens yesterday I listened to nothing but the Beatles channel on Sirius and decided I should make a list of all the Beatles song, in my order of preference.  Of course I"ll never do that because it's insane and I'm only partially insane, but I liked the mental exercise of putting together my top 20ish while driving.  The top 20 today would be Iow, which is another problem with the exercise...
OMFG!!!!!

Note the bolded! 🤣     EDIT: I bolded - was not original to text

<mind blown>

Is this the birth of this thread and krista4 - From The Internet's Clan?

Can anyone provide any documentation regarding this prior to Aug '17?

JESUS.

I'm having a flashback from all the shock!

Send help...

Note: K approved the postin of this b4 I came out.

SMDH...

Well, now I have the answer to my question in the first post of this thread (which no one read), which was that I didn't know when I'd come up with this idea.  This is amazing!!!

I read back over our PM thread then, and have a couple of thoughts, one much more important than the other:

1.  I had summited Mt. St. Helens after also doing a 24-ish mile, 6000 gain hike three days before, and I was in the best shape of my recent years.  This reminds me that I can do that and should get back at it again this year.

2.  (more important part)  The reason I was doing all that was because I was going through some significant personal agony and used hiking/climbing as a release, and in that PM thread I'm reminded what a great friend you were to me at that time.   Thank you for that.  In case anyone didn't know it, MoCS is an incredibly good and kind person.

Well, you obviously do not read you own postings - or my PM's - both are totally understandable, though - and quite natural.

Yep. That's why I suggested lines, squares and circles earlier. Tho, arc'in has been approved, recently...so...go for it!

<MoCS beams, blushes, giggles and runs into other room like a little school-boy>

<looks back>

I heard one from Suzanne Vega Beatle Fan Suzanne Vega in the car Sunday. The first 3 were chalk, I Saw Her Standing There, Here Comes the Sun and something else popular.  Her 4th one was The Fool on the Hill and I laughed out loud.

Well, you *could* copy/paste the countdown and all the writeups into a Google doc and direct them there.

Seems like a natural first step to the eventual coffee-table book anyhoo, so may as well get it out of the way.

Hmmm, sounds like there are steps involved.  Have to think about that.

Was just in my car for the first time since Monday and was excited for the music.  First song:  The Fool On The Hill.  Second:  that terrible Sheryl Crow cover of Mother Nature's Son.  Add in When I"m Sixty Four, one of the lesser Ringo solo songs, and the Spector version of Across The Universe, and I'm :hot:

Let me know if you do, Shaft. I am refinishing one right now.

Opens up to reveal a huge storage space.

That space, would be perfect for K's book - since no one will be readin' it.
Just saw this got a damn laughin' reaction by @heckmanm

WTF Dude?!

You think I'm jokin'?!

You say'in I ain't got the skills to refinish an F'n coffee table?

Here MF!

HERE!!!

Look at 'em!

😠

😶

Oh...wait. Just noticed that I havn't done a damn thing to em yet. 😖

Heck...man 'm I soo sorry. ☹️

Won't happen again; ask Getz.

I only blow'd up on him once...once. 👆

Sorry K...now this ain't no excuse, but it might just explain a little in regards to my recent rag'in.

Ya see, I planned this carpet bombing foray into wikkid's territory earlier today. It was BRILLIANT!

Not.

The F'n Crow dodged my bombs and redirected em onto every F'n board member!

Not only did I get pwnd...but I also got all our allied forces bombed da f-k too!!!

This day shall go down in infamy....

:kicksrock:

<crawls away>

<peeks back in>

So, I ordered a damage assessment of the battle field.

Doesn't look good.

Reconnaissance says I bombed the bird with War & Peace level a words.

He cawed out 5 F'n words...WORDS!!!!

You are ALL my goonchildren!!   :bowtie:
...and that smug mutha-fuddin bow-tied bow'in basterd....

This ain't over....

Whatever MoCS is on, I'll take two, please.
Oh hell yeah Mrs. R!

Check your PM's...feds can't track that...so I'm told.

Now...back to war analysis.

Worst news yet has just come across the wire.

Apparently, the weapon used to demolish our entire force - wait for it - WAS OF OUR OWN F'N DESIGN!!!!

RIGHT OUTTA OUR OWN LABS!

WE F'N CREATED THE "GOONCHILDREN" BOMB!!

<sigh>

Must be some-sorta deep state penetrat'en our b-hinds!

We may need to call a commission...facts need air'n out.

Someone is not what they appear to be.

We will find you!

I was in the car driving home at this exact same time.  I just tried to remember that I'd heard "Things We Said Today" on the way into work yesterday morning, but even that couldn't even things out.

On SiriusXM Deep Tracks this morning, I heard a different cover that I had forgotten about from Spooky Tooth.

Much better than anything Vanilla Fudge tried to do in covering the Fab Four.
Interesting.  I can’t decide what I think of this one.  It’s hard to get past the voice (which I don’t like), but otherwise I like the feel of it.  Thanks for posting it!

I hear you on Mike Harrison. He took over vocal duties with that album after Gary “Dream Weaver” Wright left the band.

This weekend, I have my longest drive yet in my car since getting SiriusXM, and plan on uninterrupted Beatles Channel.  This has got to be my best chance yet to hear "Temporary Secretary."
Mr krista heard it on there yesterday!!  I forgot to come in and tell you.

Driving to a hike, and on the Beatles channel it’s Eddie Vedder with his “hand-selected playlist.”  First selection:  Across The Universe.  !!!

In My Life!  And when I got in the car, And Your Bird Can Sing was on.  It’s going to be a great day!!!   Hey, that’s not a harpsichord!

And Your Bird Can Sing is such an outstanding song.   Alexa is going to play that next for me.
My #5!  Love it so hard.

Got back into my car after the hike and was greeted with Beatle Fan Gilbert Gottfried presenting (his) My Fab Four.  Now I know mine will at least be better than one person’s.
