This would be a very nice step in the right direction:

Let's say they extend Barmore. Add him to the list of Onwenu, Uche, Borne, Dugger, Henry, and Jennings. I hear they are working on an extension for Judon as well. That would be 8 guys they reupped. You added in White, Gonzalez, Pop, Sow, and Mapu from last year plus Stevenson. That's 14 players / starters. That already seems like a decent core (although I would suggest we are a long way from being able to declare anyone from the last draft as long-term solutions yet). My biggest nit to pick is they really didn't bring in much help with all their cap dollars they had to spend.

I think that is bigger than a nit...it's very valid...I get that they are not a desirable destination, but they could have brought in some solid vets on one-or-two-year deals that would give them more depth and helped with the change in culture they are going thru...there is still time this offseason but unless they add a Higgins or Aiyuk (which are long shots) I don't see how they can put a dent into all that cap space and I don't see how that is a positive.

BEST best case scenario;
Patriots draft Marvin Harrison Jr at 1.3 ... which is just enough incentive to bring Tom Brady out of retirement, signing a two year deal.
Brady mostly calls his own plays, negating the lack of experience of the new coaching staff.
Harrison, Douglas and Henry give Brady the quick hit targets that he covets and the 2 second release time negates any poor play from the O-line.
NE goes on to win back to back championships ... again.

Could simply be pre-draft noise but there is a buzz that the Giants want Maye who many believe is headed to the Pats...if the Pats could be guaranteed they could get JJM at #6 I wonder if they would do it since they appear to be very high on him...I think the only way to guarantee that would be to take Maye at #3 and see what happens at #4 and #5...the other question is what would be the cost of moving from #6 to #3?

Should be a nice day for rumors and speculation...whether they make the pick or trade it they need to get a foundational piece out of #34...I am sure there will be Aiyuk chatter all day after the Niners traded up for Piersall...would love it but feel it is still a long-shot...as for the pick they are in a good spot with tackle and WR...at tackle the BYU kid looks like he could be a good one and the Paul kid from Houston has a lot of intrigue...while T is a bigger need with Andrews getting up there Jackson-Powers or Frazier could be a sneaky pick...looking at the board the WR has a lot of guys that could really help them in McConkey-Mitchell-Franklin-Coleman-Wilson-Polk-Corley...one of those guys could really give a boost to the WR room...looking at this I could see them trading back 4-8 spots if it is worth it...if they think the kid from BYU can be a high-level LT I think that is the pick but if they are in love with one of those WRs I have zero issues going that route...that is a long way of saying that I like their options.

Jmo, but Maye needs protection. Paul, Saumataia or Rosengarten. Then hope for Beebe, Haynes or Puni in the 3rd. Fix that OL. WR is 25 deep. Some of the guys available in the 4th and 5th might be as good or better than some about to go in the 2nd and 3rd, but OL help is vanishing soon. Your OL sucks. Your new QB is awesome when protected, brutal under pressure.

This was both silly and dumb on their part. Herbert hasn't even started his $262M extension yet. The Chargers would have to take a $129.5M cap hit to trade Herbert.

Sounds like 9ers are more open to moving Deebo. 3rd for Deebo sounds closer than a 3rd for Aiyuk.

Yes, they need an OT. At this point, until they actually pick someone, it's hard to speculate who they might pick. They always have guys in for visits and don't draft them. As far as Suamataia goes, I've seen him considered anywhere from a Top 40 prosect to a Top 100 prospect / 15th ranked tackle / 3rd round pick. IMO, he's on the younger, less experienced side, and some places suggest he probably shouldn't play much as a rookie to better develop. As a NE fan, I really wouldn't be in favor of redshirting their top two picks.

I also don't know once the top 8-10 guys (or thereabouts) come off the board at a particular position if there's much value in taking the next best guy with Pick 35 vs. getting someone rated similarly a few rounds later. Maybe NE loves him and think he is one of the Top 5 tackles coming out this year. I have no idea. They need someone to play snaps at tackle. Not sure who that will be this year.

Fundamentally sound draft so far…addressed their 3 biggest needs and were also able to move up from the 5th to 4th round…would like to see a TE and RB added today…I would be totally fine if every pick is used on the offensive side of the ball…the Maye and Wallace picks will be a good test for the new coaching staff…if they show they can develop both of them correctly it will be a real confidence-builder about player development going forward…especially since that appears to be the main focus of the Wolf regime.

TE Theo Johnson from Penn State (6'6", 260lbs) and RB Braelon Allen ex Wisconsin (6'1", 235lbs).

Would have zero issues with those two...RB is very interesting since we don't know what Stevenson's status is after this year...if they can add a quality rookie a backfield of Stevenson-Gibson-rookie would be a nice trio...at TE it would be nice to get an athlete along the lines of Isiah Likely to go with Henry and Hooper...they aren't going to be confused with the 2007 Pats but it would be nice if they can upgrade from God-awful to functional on offense this year.

Remember…you have all those guys from last year’s draft at Line…hopefully they see enough with them so that they don’t have to go line just for the sake of going line….I think a young TE should be a priority today.
