Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots Playoff Thread (1 Viewer)

I'm not getting the love for Luck. He was up and down all year and the same thing happened in the playoffs. He's not consistent.
I cannot imagine anyone watching him play and not being impressed. Sure, he still makes some mistakes, which is pretty typical for really young quarterbacks, but his ceiling is off the charts.
I don't think people are saying Luck necessarily sucks. Just that guys like Kaep, Wilson, Tannehill, or Foles are putting up good numbers and get ignored. Heck, Dalton is only in his 3rd year yet people want to write him off.
Dalto isn't really in the same zip code as these guys.

His redraft fantasy value is the same as it was at the beginning of the season.
And?
..and I don't get the new found love for Luck.

People seem high on him for what he did last week. He's still all potential.

Luck looked like Manning tonight....Eli. Still, you can see some greatness in him. The scramble and throw on the dive by Hilton was fantastic, as well as the 2 play drive to answer. Im not looking forward to facing him when he gets DAllen back and another WR or two he can trust. Id still take him over any other young QB.

Good season Colts youre on the right track. Probably wouldnt have won with the defense falling apart but the refs were atrocious.

Most of Andrew Luck's wideouts come directly from the ranks of the undrafted so I would cut him some slack.

He came into the draft the consensus best QB prospect since Peyton Manning (some would say further back to John Elway). He has made the playoffs his first two years? Not all potential is the same, his is massive, and he is fulfilling it faster than many predecessors.

Pats aren't ready for any of the NFL defenses out west if they get to the SB.
Neither are the Broncos or Chargers. Three best defenses in the NFL are still alive in the NFC.
The Patriots played @ Carolina this year and only lost by 4? Doesn't seem like they are overmatched to me.
Did I say they were over-matched? Also you should give me credit for actually listing the Chargers as still alive, most have them out already. ;)

All potential? I'd say leading his team to a playoff win when they trailed by 28 is pretty damn good, regardless of the mistakes he made earlier in the game. And remember that he plays on a team with a poor defense and not that good of a running game, so the fact that he took over a 2-win team and they have 23 wins, one of them in the playoffs, in two seasons is a huge testament to how good he has been already. And his improvement from last season to this season is more than obvious.

Colts fans: I am not a Luck hater at all. He's impressed me very much in the games that I've seen him play.

WTF is with the hair/beard? The guy is Stanford educated, and sounds like it in front of a microphone. He looks like a hobo, it doesn't compute for me.

I agree. I think he's trying to look like Wolverine, but it just looks really bad. Maybe the guy doesn't have much of a chin and he's compensating. I've seen people with really bad buck teeth sport a mustache.

Luck is a stud. If he ever gets surrounded by a defense and some actual playmakers on offense, look out.

When you watch him, you can just see the stud halo surrounding him.

Who the hell cares what he looks like? The kid lives, eats and breaths football. This isn't American Idol.
I'm not saying he's a bad looking dude. I just think he should shave. I have trouble taking him seriously everytime I see that neck beard thing he's sporting.

Maybe we should make a poll?

Deion Sanders just said "Patriots move on to play the Broncos next week" then there was a brief awkward silence. Sanders really hates the chargers.

Maybe there is a disconnect here. I'm talking in terms of fantasy. If I was an NFL owner I want him as my QB long term. But I can count on him getting 20+ fantasy pts every week next year.

Yeah no doubt luck's good and could be great, but the media just got ahead of themselves this week as they tend to do. he made some throws that were just sick like that scramble, pass to Hilton. Needs to cut down on mistakes although he only threw 9 int's during regular season. Hilton's a stud and the TE's good so i don't think his supporting cast is too bad, but they're all young too and another weapon would help.

The Colts will experience Blount force trauma in this game. They will be totally dominated by the Pats running game, with both Ridleu and Blount going over 100 yards, and Screen Vereen will

make the Colts Defense look silly.

Belichick with two weeks to prepare, and high winds and rain spells big, big trouble for Indy.

This one probably wont even be close.
:goodposting: I was wrong.

IF that defense continues to suck I don't see why not

Looking at the game stats, there really wasn't a big difference between the two teams in terms of total yards. The Pats held the ball for 10 more minutes due to emphasizing the run but the game came down to Indy's 4 turnovers compared to none for the Pats.

The Colts were extremely lucky not to have been Jamauled last week. It was inevitable that their run defense would be their demise.

That defense was top 10 in scoring this year
still sucks, numbers were inflated byJax x2, Tenn x2, Hou x2. Playing real teams they got destroyed
You mean like Denver, Seattle, KC, and SF? Those kind of real teams?
outside of the SF game, the defense was terrible vs those teams, not sure what your getting at.

Being a top10 defense in scoring is cute an all, but that unit isn't very good
