Indy looking to trade for a RB (1 Viewer)

Was thinking this. The way the offense is in Philly, I'd like to keep the depth but if they offer a 2nd rounder for him, I'd jump at that in a heartbeat.

No one is offering a 2nd round pick for Polk

Why I would take it in a heartbeat. Realistically, a 4th rounder would probably entice Roseman but I think depth would override the decision.

Maybe if they got dhb or another receiver, but i just don't see the eagles trading a back.Logically, old dude on building team makes the most sense, but are even the jags giving up on the season yet?

MJD and Fred Jackson makes the most sense.

Don't see the hawks doing it, but turbin would be a boon. Is Leshoure still breathing?

I don't see the Patriots trading within the conference and if they were willing to, I don't think I'd trust them.

The Pats traded Bledsoe to the Bills.The Pats traded with the Dolphins to get Welker.

The Pats traded with the Raiders to get Moss.

The Pats traded Seymour to the Raiders.

The Pats will trade within conference if it makes the Pats better. With that said, I don't think the Pats will be trading one of their backs to the Colts at this time.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Lions RB Mikel Leshoure is "wide open" to being traded.
Leshoure is the No. 3 back in Detroit and was a healthy scratch last week as a running back who doesn't play special teams. He also hasn't looked the same since tearing his Achilles' as a rookie. Leshoure ran for 798 yards and nine touchdowns in 2012. Colts owner has expressed some interest in acquiring a running back following Vick Ballard's season-ending ACL tear. They're not comfortable with Donald Brown as the No. 2. That's pure speculation on our part, though.

too valuable to the Skins. Teams aren't going to trade pieces that help them.

Leshoure easily makes the most sense because he's a game day inactive and far from useful in Detroit's offense.

This. No team is going to trade a primary backup this early into the season. But it wouldn't shock me if the Colts overpaid for someone either.

It doesn't make sense that they would go after some of the names mentioned, who are guys with more injury risk than Brown and Bradshaw, less talented, and/or older.

Ingram makes some sense because he is a lot like Ballard and could provide good short yardage G/L running, plus he could pound the ball in a game where you have the lead and want to wear the other team down. One question I have with him: can he pass block well? That would be essential I think.

Otherwise why not go with Williams? He knows your system and flashed good running ability in preseason.

Internal rumors around the league I'm hearing is that three teams are inquiring about Danny Woodhead. The Chargers have offered Ronnie Brown but Rivers is comfortable with him. One team are the Colts, the other are the Patriots, the third is yet to be revealed. Woodhead has a reasonable 2 year deal, with incentives, will max out at 3.8-3.9 with unlikely to reach incentives. Any team can trade for Woodhead this year, pay the proration on his 750K and the proration on his million dollar signing bonus over the two years. His 2nd year is not guaranteed. Playoff tested, reliable, good pass protector, good hands, reliable pass catcher, can dig out some tough yards as a runner in a pinch.

The other growing rumor I'm hearing is Josh Freeman and Andy Reid's clear affection for him. If the Fat Man loves anything, it's a black mobile QB with a career low completion percentage that has shown little to no suitability for the WCO who he wants to throw 70 percent of the time with about 15 percent of those balls thrown into the dirt. I like Alex Smith. Reid likes Alex Smith. However a rapid firing cap gun is still a cap gun. I even like Tyler Bray, how I question whether he's suited to a WCO hybrid offense. Not that something like that has stopped Reid before.

I asked in the Audible thread this last week about Woodhead and the past two weeks about Glennon/Freeman to see if the radio guys would take the hint or not. With Allen hurting and Fleener sort of floundering at the moment, the Colts need a short perimeter pass catcher. Expect to see DHB taking less snaps because the lack of emphasis of the running game will negate Indy's need for his blocking on the outside. Remember in the pass happy NFL, 3rd down backs are essentially quasi starters in the league.

FWIW. I don't think Ronnie Brown has a single touch today. Not sure if it is coincidence. Seems odd that he had more touches than Mathews last week and this week nothing?

Chargers holding him out to prevent injury?

EDIT: Brown just got a carry. Almost midway through the 3rd quarter.

Pretend for a minute that Crazy Jim is serious and it actually is a huge name trade. Who could it be?

MJD -- inside division, but could otherwise make some sense as Jags don't plan to re-sign him and it would help them lose that last game to get to 0-16

Lynch -- Seahawks probably have the depth to pull it off, but no real reason to do it since Lynch is better than Turbin and Michael is still raw and this may be the year for them. Doubt any contender would be a part of something like that.

Ingram -- probably most likely candidate. Saints may have decided he can't play and they have Sproles + Thomas.

DeAngelo -- could make sense if Stewart's on track for a Week 6 return. Gets Panther's out of overpaying the RBs and would leave them with Stewart and Tolbert.

McFadden -- might make sense as well since the Raiders are going nowhere fast and McFadden's a FA at the end of the season.

Again, pure speculation on the chance that Irsay's Tweets are credible.

If MJD has no chance of resigning and jags have no chance of playoffs, why not deal him now for a pick? Todman gets a nice, long look. Denard gets some work. Jags need to rebuild this and losing MJD at the end of the year for nothing seems worse than losing him for something.
