I had my choice of 2 teams. Both teams kind of stink but this team had much better keepers. Not many young studs but alot of solid talent. Anyway, I need to choose 18 players so help me choose. My selections are bolded.

Moises Alou

Barry Bonds

Orlando Cabrera

Johnny Damon

Mark DeRosa

Ken Griffey

Corey Hart

Derrek Lee

Victor Martinez

Justin Morneau

Brandon Phillips

Ivan Rodriguez

Scott Rolen

Alfonso Soriano

Frank Thomas

Shane Victorino

Joe Borowski

Jeff Francis

Jon Garland

Ted Lilly

Braden Looper

Gil Meche

Kevin Millwood

Jamie Moyer

Vicente Padilla

Brad Penny

Jon Rauch

Francisco Rodriguez

Kenny Rogers

Jason Schmidt

Carlos Silva

Rafael Soriano

As you can, this team has some good hitters, good team speed, and some good closers. Its lacking in young starting pitchers. I will try to use my strengths to acquire some starters. Also, is Schmidt supposed to be healthy this year? If so Ill add him and remove which SP?

I would keep Corey Hart over Frank Thomas myself. I would also keep Schmidt somehow.
Yeah was trying to squeeze Hart on there. He is a much better choice than Thomas. And Im tempted to keep Schmidt. Should I drop Garland or Meche for him?

Hart was 20-20 last year and getting better. You have to keep him. I would probably kick Gil Meche to the curb for Schmidt.

Not too many tough choices. Hart is a definite one. Schmidt is probably worth the gamble, Garland wasn't that good last year.

Yep, Im an AL fan. I didnt realize how good Hart's #s were last year. I will def. keep him over Thomas.

LMAO at these categories:

For hitting: singles, doubles, triples, home-runs, RBI, SB, K’s, runs scored, Fielding Percentage, Batting average & On-base percentage.

For pitching: Inning pitched, Won, Loss, Save, Home-runs, walks, K’s, Holds, & ERA.

Does that change anything? And theres more hitting cats than pitching. So that means teams with good hitting are more important.

These would be my keepers as of now.....subject to changeAlou is about 72 years old, and only giving you 400 or so empty AB's per season

Griffey maybe over Damon, but I like Damon's chances this year of outperforming Griffey in a 5x5 league. Griffey is always a pretty big gamble, imo

Not ever high on Garland, not even draftable imo

Silva is going into a nice situation this year, and I expect the "Meche" effect to go in full force here....high priced free agent pitcher who has never shown anything more than mediocre performance changes team and has a nice season.

Lilly is borderline for me. Ordinarily a WHIP Killer, with mediocre win totals, a sub-par ERA, slightly offset by his decent k numbers. But, pitching in the NL Central may give him a tick up.....over Meche probably would be o.k.

Dude, I wouldn't even join a league like that. That scoring is gonna drive you nuts.

The only one thats stupid is Field% but I dunno. Could be interesting. OK K's may be even dumber.
