I run a playoff pool where you get a $50 salary cap and you choose players from a list. Once that player is eliminated you lose his production. It's $10/entry and this year I have 159 entries.

I do everything myself, scoring and entries are handled through excel and access.

On the entry sheet, when I created it Doug Gabriel was a member of the NE Patriots. As a courtesy to people I make players with an asterisk when they officially make the playoffs. However I didn't realize that Gabriel had been released, so he got marked with an asterisk.

I created the sheets around week 12, adjusting prices ect. and they were distributed the Tuesday after Week 16 had ended. So at that time Gabriel was a Raider, but I had not made an adjustment.

The problem: 3 teams have selected Gabriel and one has asked if he could make a substitution to an player of equal or lesser value whose team hasn't played (basically the choices would be V. Jackson, R. Davis, T. Copper, and 3rd String Wr from Balt)

I've already released the first weeks standings and included were complete rosters of every team.

I'd admit I'm partially at blame, but is it enough my fault to allow a change?

TIA

Yes, you made an innocent mistake, but the real mistake was anyone actually selecting Gabriel in a playoff league. You put Gabriel on the form but you didn't choose him for these people. He was released weeks ago, and if 3 people chose him without having any idea what they were doing, it's on them.

:lmao: Correct answer.

 Defintely agree - even if Gabriel was on the the Pats what were these people thinking?
