introducing Jordan "Sunshine" Taylor (1 Viewer)

WR, for the Denver Broncos.  6'5", 210 lbs.  Undrafted, spent all of last season on the practice squad.

He found his way to my radar when Manning was raving about him last season - when Manning was hurt and trying to work his way back into game-shape, he threw a lot with Taylor, and eventually worked with him pre-game all post season. (link)

yesterday, this happened.

flash in the pan?  probably.  Worth keeping an eye on? definately.

He made a good showing whenever used...What if anything do we know going forward...Does new coaching staff use him more?..Definitely outside the numbers player...Thomas and Sanders have that locked down..They need a slot receiver, why not Sanders..He played slot in Pittsburgh if my memory serves me....Sanders and Thomas both pushing 30...Time to develop other receivers..

I'm interested in Taylor with Sanders likely dealing with a high ankle sprain. I know Fowler is supposed to operate in two wide sets but I think there will still be plenty of opportunity for Taylor. I know DEN was trailing but Taylor saw 4 targets in only a quarter of action after Sanders left last week.

Pros

large catch radius, good hands

subtle deep speed, legit vertical threat

can make plays after the catch

has shown to have some chemistry with Siemian in the past

Cons

has trouble with press coverage

can be more precise with his routes

I think this clip does a good job of showcasing some of his pros and cons. He gets muscled at the line and is pushed off of his route but recovers and ends up making a nice grab in the end zone for a TD.

Considering the fact that Sanders will likely be missing quite a bit of time and DEN's upcoming schedule (@LAC, @KC, @PHI, NE) and it might be prudent to make a speculative grab in deeper leagues.

Edit: Here are all of his receptions as a Bronco.

I thought he looked pretty good against the Saints last year. They could certainly use him more, the problem like everything else in Denver is the QB.

Picked him up as a cheap PS player in his rookie year.  He hasn’t shown a whole lot of progression over his time in the league.  I finally gave up on him in final cuts before this season.  He may have peaked already for what he’s capable of.
