If/when they get bored of their devices. I'm looking for something for teens. TIA
Right. Maybe I misphrased my request slightly. These are bright kids who are probably looking to interact and, frankly, I want to look good with a decent/interesting suggestion for a game or an activityReally? They basically have the entire world at their fingertips. If this doesnt entertain them enough, I dont know what will. Surely not the alphabet game.
Exactly! I wish i had it so bad where i could have had movies being played for me in the back seat, ipod touch's, kindles, notepads and everything else they have...Really? They basically have the entire world at their fingertips. If this doesnt entertain them enough, I dont know what will. Surely not the alphabet game.
20 questions or ISpy work well in a car. They will only buy you an hour or so, tops though. My Hope Street Alias said:Right. Maybe I misphrased my request slightly. Nice areas, should have just had them search for a law abiding citizen lolWe've done a couple vacations in recent years. As corny as it sounds, we created a scavenger hunt for the kids. The first trip was to the Black Hills, so I got online and found 20-30 things that they are likely to see. Some were simple, others they had to search for. Last spring we spent 8 days in DC, Philly, NY, Balt area. The list was 100 items long. We added a small prize for the winner.
My kids were 15 and 16 at the time and it turned into a cutthroat competition. It made them look around, instead of staring at their phones or tablets all day.
Why not? Its not really much different than 20 questions except that you can see the object instead of just thinking of it.I'm sure teens will love to play ISpy!20 questions or ISpy work well in a car. I believe we have a winner. I like some of the other ideas but they've been done. KC, can you flesh this out a bit? I'm talking about the trip itself as opposed to once we've arrived at the destination. Any unusual or interesting items you had on your lists? Thanks. We've done a couple vacations in recent years. I still had part of the list on my hard drive.(Cue the Scoresman joke) Again, this was the list for the East coast trip. Some can be found while driving, others I knew they would find in the Smithsonian Museums, etc. I also used Google Maps to find a few things. Like the Roller Coaster just before Niagara Falls.I believe we have a winner. I like some of the other ideas but they've been done. KC, can you flesh this out a bit?
