Irvin making as a you-know-what of himself as usual (1 Viewer)

Ghost Rider

On Sportscenter just now, Irvin was, as always, sticking up for his boy Terrell Owens, talking about how Bledsoe didn't give him enough opportunities to make plays yesterday. And when asked about McNabb's play, you could tell it just killed Irvin to have to say anything positive about McNabb and the Eagles. Ditka was basically laughing at him. Hahaha..

Irvin does nothing but pimp for his buddies, and ESPN passes this off as valid analysis/commentary.

irvin is the contrarian, and why should he say something positive about the eagles. you never hear jaworski go against the eagles. sometimes he's right, sometimes he's wrong just like all the other commentators. i always find it funny how he wins at picking the games, though.

and go to the cowboys message boards or even here. they're on TO's side and want tony romo in.

Doesn't matter - I just saw the Parcells interview and it was absolutely clear that he thought TO's misses were TO's fault. And he didn't blame Drew for the INTs - b;amed the WRs not knowing the plays s (ie - not coming to training camp you big sissy baby)I think TO's career is over. No , I'm not kidding.

TO blaming his problems on his QB? :o No way!

but i think his point is Irvin had TOs back last year too, when it was clear that TO was wrong and mcnabb handled everything perfectly(at least from what we saw through the media)i dont think its an irvin opinion based on cowboys/eagles, just his boy(TO) vs mcnabbirvin will always have excuses for TO

Marc I have always valued your opinion but I think we need more than this to say TO is done.

i don't think he's physically "done" but who will take a chance on this head case after parcells dogs him out?

Redskins and Oakland - just off the top of my head.Imagine Moss and TO - Al Davis would explode all over himself.
And which QB would they be elevating the play of this time?I can't imagine a worse combination of teammates than Moss and TO. It makes my head hurt.

But Al Davis would do it.I think it would be a :tfp: of epic proportions.
But EVERYONE would look forward to every game they were in, regardless of record.

BP said he didn't notice TO or what he said, obviously avoiding any controversy. would've liked to get the ball to him, but they were covering him. but TO needs to gain some more knowledge on his routes. part of it being new to the offense.i'm not sure where you're getting your info to make any of those statementscontrast to pat watkins, what do you say to help his confidence? - he needs to get it going :lmao: he was expecting a little more than what he got last night. asked about where the defense is. look last night it was just one player. :o i assume he's talking about watkins and not mcnabb.for bledsoe, we're scoring pts pretty good, doing everything good, but we need to protect the ball, until we do that we're not going to be any good.

Id look for Irvin to make a fool outta himself alot more in the near future...Right around Turkey day last year was when he was taking in wayward friends, whom left some "stuff" in his car.

Watching the interview again right now. Maybe I misinterpreted what Parcells said, but the impression I got from the first go-round was that many of the misses - and one of the INTs - was due to the receiver not properly running the route. That sounds like a clear indictment of TO not being in camp and not LEARNING WHERE PARCELLS WANTS HIM rather than where he "thinks" he should be to get open.

sure there's the mcnabb vs TO statement aspect. but irvin's comments and ditka's laughing was because irvin said the cowboys were the best team in the nfc :bag:

Bledsoe was definitely sucktastic yesterday but the factor that I foresee eating away at Owens every week is Dallas's commitment to the running game. Parcells would much rather feed the ball to JJ or Barber and roll over the opposition than use TO as a potential gamebreaker. I don't know that I disagree with the strategy. Dallas's problems on offense tend to revolve around giving Bledsoe enough time to pass. If they can establish a ground game they should go with it. I just can't see TO keeping his mouth shut for long with that sort of gameplanning, especially if Dallas doesn't win consistently.

Back on topic .... Irvin is a stunad.

I think folks are making a mountain out of a molehill here. Let's face it...a TO eruption during the season was going to happen regardless. The fact that it came against a divisional rival in a hyped-up, emotional game TO has looked forward to for the past 7 months is even less surprising. If the Cowboys go on a tear and TO is putting up big time numbers, this will be considered a bump in the road.

TO will have a job as long as Green Bay thinks it's a good idea to hire 'One sip away from suspension' Koren Robinson.

Someone is always dumb enough in this league.

good point.it is really troubling, however, that he learned diddly plus squat from his stays in sf and philly - and is, once again, throwing teamates under the bus by blowing up on the sidelines and in the locker room.i'm sure zhe sees nothing wronig witrh his behavior, which is why he's a horse's ####.

No way. Seriously, can you imagine Joe Gibbs signing TO? :lmao: Joe Gibbs: "In TO we have a guy who we think is super smart, a guy who really plays his guts out. And best of all he's just a good, humble guy, who never complains . . ." :lmao:

The guy who hasn't been mentioned and who I could see taking a shot is Saban.

Otherwise, it would have to be a sagging team maybe trying to generate interest in a new stadium or something . . . maybe. I agree though, he's running out of options.

Nobody ever accused Cowboy Fans of be objective or knowing anything about football.
TO is handling it wrong, as usual, but the criticism of Bledsoe if unfortunately right on. He can't put the ball where it needs to be. His long passes almost always come up short and he doesn't seem to know what he wants to do with the ball when he drops back. The Eagles were doubling TO's side most of the game, but they did not cover him as well as the stats showed. BTW, TO was not the only frustrated WR (numerous shots of Glenn during the game). BP is fiercely loyal and I respect that, but when he watches film this week he will see the OL and WRs didn't play such a bad game.Apparently you have to misspell words to "know anything about football"?

What did Steve Young just say? "You could talk for another 10 minutes and you still wouldn't make sense."

On Sunday, before the games started, Irvin and Ditka were asked what the best team in the NFL was. Ditka said the Bears. Irvin said the Cowboys. What? I guess that showed on Sunday didn't it?

Hey - Yo - back off da man,

Irvin's representin'

Gotta stand up for yer boys wqhen yer representin'

Imagine TO and Moss with Andrew Walter throwing them the ball. They would mug him in the alley and beat him senseless so they have to start someone else. Walter looked really bad.

Just thought I would bump this thread. I loved Irvin as a player, kind of meh on him as a commentator, but seems like a QB change to Romo has helped TO and the team as a whole. I guess Irvin might not have been completely off base.

Last week on Dan Patrick's show Irvin insinuated that one of Romo's ancestor's may have had relations with a black slave and that is why Romo is athletic. Any one else would have been fired for this type of statement, see Jimmy the Greek, Al Campanis, but Irvin gets a pass. He is disgraceful and an idiot.
