Is a change to 2 Fantasy Points per Extra Point a good idea? (1 Viewer)

With the upcoming rule change, I was talking with some friends about the fantasy impact of the change. We are yet to see how much/if teams will actually adjust what they do, but this 100% will make Kickers score less fantasy points over the year (maybe that's a good thing?) based on them A: Missing a few more, and B: Teams going for a few less XP's per year.

Wondering if a change to 1.5 or 2 points per XP would offset this and what other people's thoughts are on this.

anything to diminish kickers is good. Best way is to completely eliminate them but at minimum leagues should give negative points for missed FG's. My favorite league kickers get -5 for missed FG's under 30 yards, -4 for missed 30-40, and -3 for missed 40+.

Kickers need to be punished. As Peyton Manning said, "idiot kicker".

I haven't played in a league with kickers in years

But I think its a bad idea. Kickers aren't getting their XP attempts cut in half.

They made this change because NFL teams are too conservative. That will probably continue no matter how many metrics say it shouldn't. I hope I'm wrong, personally.

Yet for some reason every mock draft I've done people take kickers before the last two rounds. Someone always takes Gostkowski in the 12th or 13th round for some stupid reason.

Every year in my dynasty league I propose removing kickers and just adding a flex spot. Shot down every time. I HATE kickers. There was a whole 60 point difference between the #1 and #15 kicker.

Not sure where to ask, so I guess I'll do it here. Was the "rule change" one change, or separate changes (defense can score now, moving extra point attempts back...). Did teams get to vote on them separately, or all combined? Still trying to figure out why my Redskins would object....
