Is Detroit a legit FF defense? (1 Viewer)

I am doing my weekly SWOT analysis of all my teams and in my two main leagues, Detroit is sticking out like a sore thumb. They are the number 1 ranked FF defense in one league and the number 3 in the other. Just sitting there on the waiver wire. Now obviously Detriot's defense isn't great, but with the way that offense plays, do they have enough to stay in the top 12 or so for the remainder of the year. A closer look reveals that they've had a pretty soft schedule to start the season with Oakland, Chicago, Minnesota, and Philly. They did nothing vs. Washington last week.

Coming up they get some juicy matchups as well with the Bucs, Bears, and Broncos after the bye week. Not of these teams is lighting the league on fire and Detroit just might find themselves in the lead in these matchups. Anyone have any opinions on why they will or will not continue their early season FF success?

Thanks for your insight. Anybody else have any thoughts on this unit that is at or near the top of the FF defense list and can be had in Free Agency?

My honest opinion, if your league penalizes for points allowed, all bets are off, they really only have marginal value at best. They really can't stop anybody from scoring. The good news is, they play in a great division for turnovers. The schedule is very hot/cold the rest of the season. TB, CHI, and MIN are possibly good starts, ARI and DEN are very marginal, and the rest look to be pretty dangerous,. And looking ahead to the fantasy playoffs, it's impossible to imagine playing them against Dallas and SD. Week 16 could be decent against KC, but would you risk that play in the fantasy championship? Surely there would be better options at that point. Like I said though, depending on your league scoring, the turnovers will certainly be there.
