Is it OK to tank in FF? (1 Viewer)

Seems more theoretical than actual.  Even in my scenario it is no guarantee as the third team would have to win for the scenario to work.  So you are at risk either way.  If you win and the other team wins then you lose the tie break.  If you lose and the other team loses then the team that beats you is in.  You need both to lose and the third team to win (which is no guarantee) so I can't think of an actual situation where losing guarantees a playoff spot where winning guarantees you are out.
Why do you need a guarantee?  If losing gives you any chance at all while a win eliminates you, LOSE

Well in my scenario losing and winning are somewhat equal chances.   It would take team 3 to win in order for my loss to matter (to get to a 3-way tie).  If I were to win and the 3rd team lost then I am not tied and I win outright.  If I lose and team 3 loses then the team I lost to gets the spot because it's not a 3 way tie.

I am just trying to come up with a realistic scenario to match your "what if"....and I can't really come up with one that losing is the obvious play going into the week.

ETA:  I guess the scenario that nfly2 presented has some merit to the what if.  I am still thinking it thru though.
