Is it time to Drop Amendola? (1 Viewer)

You can't trust any NE offensive player. Ridley is the only startable one IMO. Brady unfortunately I know a lot of people don't have another option worth starting, but if you do I'd consider benching Brady. Might be crazy

If you can stash him for a couple more weeks. Typically people have a moderate draft pick invested in Amendola, so I wouldn't jump ship just yet. Give it a chance to maybe turn around in the second half

I decided I didn't need to handcuff my WR3, so I dropped Edelman for Stills. Holding onto Amendola though.

i dont get it. his original timeframe to get back to healthy was around 4-6 weeks. he is right around that now (6 weeks). why would you drop tom bradys # 1 wr just when he might be coming back around. if you have held this long, what were you waiting for?

I guess it depends on the depth of your league

Where does he stand compared to guys like Hartline, Kendall Wright, Stills

or even guys like Dobson or Thompkins...

He got dropped in one of my leagues...and someone promptly spent 40+% of the FAAB on him. So opinions vary.

I thought I stola Dola in a trade a few weeks back. Now I am trying to dump him

I just traded Andre Brown for him in a league where I needed a WR desperatley and had Spiller, Richardson, Lacy, Ridley, and Vereen at RB. I think as long as Amendola stays healthy (big IF) he's a fine WR2 especially in PPR. It's not like Brady has a ton of great WR options so why can't Amendola come back in and be successful?

He's not gonna get hurt if he never gets hit.

Of all times to drop him, why drop him now that hes healthy enough to start and Gronk is back?
Because Dobson is the man now?

I think this idea still works, but one problem is Brady and another is that the role has shifted to Dobson, or at a mimium it's shifted to more Dobson and some of Edelman and Danny A jointly.

What does that even mean? Amendola has played 4 less games and has only 7 less receptions than Dobson. In the 3 games they played together they have the exact same amount of targets (19).

Forgive the expression. Let me clear.

Don't you have to take out Game 1? That was a long time ago, a great game, hint of great things, but not really relevant perhaps?

I've noticed the targets. But my feeling on it is that Amendola's value was in the kind of game he had Game 1, not the last 2 games they played together (NO & Mia). The Saints game Amendola went out as well, so even that's not a full comparison. The Jets game he was out. Even so in the NO game before Amendola got hurt Dobson was still in there what seemed to be more. In the middle of all that time (between Buf & NO) Dobson picked up momentum (I guess he practiced, got game time, gained trust, etc.), and he had more snaps va Mia. They each got a red zone target but Dobson converted his. - I realize this can change game to game but we're going into week 9 now. Not much time for tweaking left, Dobson looks to be option 1 among WRs, option 1a at a minimum. The one play I loved was when Amendola got open deep vs the Saints (leaving the fact I was pulling against the Pats there), but of course Brady missed him.

Im struggling to figure how anyone could think anyone is the #1 receiver in NE. Literally every game a different receiver leads in snap counts and targets, Dobson led this past week with 10 more snaps than Amendola (who had a concussion the week before), the week before that Dobson was 5th in snaps for receivers.

Its like people aren't even watching the games anymore.

I've watched all of the Saints game and some of the Miami game. I can form an opinion, maybe better on what I saw in the NO game than the Mia game, but still. In the NO game it sure seemed to me like Dobson was out there an awful lot.

ETA: I do trust you as a Pats fan, so I defer, I certainly do not want to lead people in the wrong direction, as always just an opinion. Thanks.

When he is healthy he's a stud. Period. Now how long will he stay healthy? Who knows the guy could get hurt in pre game he is so soft. Still I love knowing he my backup and I can plug him in when people are in byes. Calvin is on a bye so Amedola gets the start.
